BCA short courses are aimed at schools and students coming to 3D technologies for the first time or wanting to develop their skills in a particular area. They give teachers and students valuable insight into the specific ways technology is used in different industries.
Short courses last between half to one term and BCA are at hand to guide you through the process. Full teacher training, support and lesson plan resources are available.
Our range of short courses are perfect to build a foundation for further learning. Some of our courses carry a qualification in Additive Manufacturing, QCF Level 1, 2 and 3 Awards. These Awards are industry accredited and take students through a series of projects that reflect the challenging design and engineering opportunities facing professionals working at the forefront of 3D design and advanced manufacturing.
BCA short courses cover a number of materials and systems, from metals and resins to plastics and even paper. Students can choose to specialise in engineering, product design, or fashion and textiles.
Our short courses include:
3D Printing (Additive Manufacturing QCF):3D printing introduces the technology and how it is used across multiple disciplines and industries. This is a versatile course covering the 3D CAD process and the engineering principles of 3D printers themselves.
Student learning outcomes: 3D printing, 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD), geometry, STEM, spatial awareness, Computer Numeric Control (CNC), material science.
3D Printing For Consumer Product Design (Additive Manufacturing QCF):With a specific focus on consumer products this course looks at how 3D printing is used in product design, development, prototyping, and manufacture.
Student learning outcomes: 3D printing, 3D CAD, product design, design thinking, geometry, STEM, form and function, spatial awareness, material science, assemblies and manufacture.
SHORT COURSESBCA offers a range of short courses specialising in 3D technologies.
