    EachBCS-8xxmoduleiscomposedof8channels.Toensurebetteraccuracyincurrentcontrolandmeasurement,5 current rangesareavailabledependingonthemodel.ChannelsofBCS-815modulescanbeconnectedinparalleltoincreasethemaximumcurrentupto120 A.Withan18-bitanalogtodigitalconverterforthevoltagemeasurement,theresolutionoftheBCS-8xx isanimpressive40 µV.Toaddevenmorecapabilityandvalue,everychannelinamoduleisEIS-capableoverafrequencyrangefrom10 kHz to 10 mHzforaccurateandfastdeterminationofthebatteryinternalresistance.

    BCS-8xxmodulescanbeaddedtoasinglecabinet.Severalsizesareoffered(38U,24U,12Uand6U).Acommunicationmoduleprovidestheindividualcontrolanddataacquisitiononallthechannelssimultaneously.Eachchannelwithinamoduleisfullyindependentfromtheothers.WiththeEthernetconnection,eachBCScabinetcanbeconnectedtoaLocalAreaNetworkwheremultipleuserscanthenaccesstheinstrument(s)andfollowthebatterycyclingfromanywhereacrosstheLAN.AnotheradvantageistheeasybackupofcyclingdataontoaLANserver.

    EachchanneloftheBCS-815/BCS-810modulesallowsfortemperaturemeasurementwithK-typethermocouples.EachBCS-8xx modulealsohasananaloginput/outputforinterfacingwithexternaldevices. Batterytestscanbeperformedaccuratelybya4-pointmeasurement.

    PowerfulmethodBT-Lab®softwareallowstheusertodefinethecriticalparametersrelatedtotheirbatteries,suchasthename,materials,andcapacityinthe“Batterycellcharacteristics”section.Forexperimentaldefinition,theModuloBatmethodcanbecomposedofupto100differentsequences.Foranygivensequence,thecontrolmodecanbeselectedfrom12modeoptionsanddifferentcontrolmodescanbeeasilylinked.Thecontrolledcurrentcanalsobedefinedasafunctionofthecapacityrateofthecell,allowingtheusertocreatemoreuniqueandflexibleexperiments.Tosavetime,eachsetupcanbesavedandreloadedonallselectedchannelssimultaneously.Usercanalsouseadvanced techniquessuchasthepopularGCPLtechniquethatcomesfromourEC-Lab®researchgradesoftware.

    ExperimentandsafetylimitsIneverysequenceofModuloBat,uptothreeexperimentallimitscanbeselectedonmeasuredvaluessuchastime,current,voltage,temperature,oronavariationofthisvalue.Different,selectableactionsmaybetakenwhenalimitisreached,suchas“stop”theexperimentor“gotothesequenceN”.Additionally,safetylimitscanbeaddedoneachchanneltoshutdownthechannelintheeventsomethinggoeswrongduringtheexperiment.

    Comprehensivegraphic packageThe BT-Lab®graphicpackageisembeddedwiththesoftwareandincludespowerfultoolstocreategraphtemplatesandanalyzedata.Thispackageoffersauniquetracefilteringoptionbychannel.Thisresultsinamultigraphwindowcapableofdisplayingupto128graphswithinasinglewindow.Withtheadvancedgraphproperties,theusercanaddandcustomizenewvariablesforeachaxis.Powerfulanalysistools(suchasintegral,circularorlinearfit)arealsoavailableinBT-Lab®.
