শিক্ষিত তরুন-তরুণীরা যত বেশি আত্মকর্মসংস্থানের ব্যবস্থা করতে পারবে দেশ ততই এগিয়ে যাবে। কিন্তু দৃঢ় বিশ্বাস ও নিষ্ঠা থাকলে আত্মকর্মসংস্থান যেমন খুব কঠিন নয়, আবার বিভিন্ন বাস্তবতার কারনে সেটি আবার খুব সহজও নয়। তাই অধিকাংশ শিক্ষিত তরুণই দ্বারস্থ হন তাদের পছন্দসই কোন চাকরি প্রাপ্তির তুমুল যুদ্ধে। অসম্ভব প্রতিযোগিতার এই সময়ে ভালো কোনো প্রতিষ্ঠানে নিজের একটি আসন করে নেওয়ার জন্য কঠোর অনুশীলন ও নিয়মানুবর্তীতার কোন বিকল্প আমার জানা নেই। বিশেষ করে কোন ব্যাংক জব বা বিসিএস প্রিলিমিনারি পরীক্ষাকে (বিশেষ করে ২৮তম বিসিএস থেকে) বাছাইয়ের পদ্ধতি না বলে ছাঁটাইয়ের পদ্ধতি বলাই সমীচীন হবে। কারণ আগে চাকরী প্রার্থী ও সুযোগের মধ্যে বর্তমানের মত আকাশ-পাতাল ব্যবধান ছিল না। ব্যাংক জব ও বিসিএস প্রিলিমিনারি পরীক্ষার ধরন অনেকটাই কাছাকাছি। এক্ষেত্রে ভালো করার জন্য বাংলা, ইংরেজি, গণিত, বিজ্ঞান, আই-কিউ ও জাতীয়-আন্তর্জাতিক বিষয়ের মৌলিক ধারনা নিয়মিত অনুশীলন ও দখলে রাখতে হবে। বলতে গেলে সিলেবাসটি ব্যাপক তথা অসীম। বিজ্ঞান, কলা, সমাজ-বিজ্ঞান ও বাণিজ্য অনুষদের প্রায় ৭০ এর অধিক বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য সরকারি-বেসরকারি সব ধরনের চাকরির ক্ষেত্রেই প্রায় অভিন্ন প্রশ্নে পরীক্ষা দিতে হয়। আজকে পদার্থ বিজ্ঞানের তরুণটিকেও বেছে নিতে হচ্ছে ব্যাংক। ফলে বিভিন্ন বিভাগ থেকে আসা চাকরি প্রার্থীদের জন্য করা হচ্ছে সাধারণ বিষয়ের প্রশ্ন। ৪-৫ বছরের সিলেবাস থেকে চাকরির পরীক্ষায় ১০% কমন পাওয়াটাই অনেক ভাগ্যের ব্যাপার। তাই একাডেমিক সনদটিকে বলা যেতে পারে বাণিজ্য মেলায় টিকিটের মত চাকরির বাজারের টিকিট মাত্র। ২০ টাকার টিকিটে যেমন বাণিজ্য মেলায় শুধু প্রবেশ করা যায়, কিছু শপিং করা যায় না। শপিংয়ের পরিমান নির্ভর করে অতিরিক্ত
