This year, he works together with an Italian engineer and the Faculty of Engineering of King Mongkuts University of Technology Thonburi, the world champion of robotics, to create an interactive billboard that is made out of milk boxes. The billboard also functions as one of the landmarks of this years BDF, as well as a communication tool that sends out all the messages BDF wants to propose, from the program to the theme of the festival. The piece emphasizes the environmental issue, either in the attempt to use the least energy possible or the fact that it is made of 100% recyclable material.

20-30 Nov 10, 10.00- 21.00Architects, designers, artists, academics, and personnel from many fields of occupation collaborate in a non-profit organization that works in helping, preventing and preparing the general public from disasters and other situations that create unrest. The aim is to create safety, resilience and sustainability under the name: Design for Disasters. 27 invited creative contributors use different parts from the wreckage of Siam Theatre that was burnt down during the unrest in April and May of this year as their inspirations for design and artistic projects. Its a reminder that even though something is destroyed into pieces its true value remains, and we all have the ability to recycle and bring back the goodness and beauty in everything around us. The exhibition from Props Gallery features work in a series of photographs that project beauty, time and space. Its hard to see something when its moving so fast, but at the same time, people dont seem to notice the movement of something thats moving so slowly either. This is the thinking that went in to creating this series of photographs, in which 20 images of men and women are lined up for viewers to gradually notice the changing course of time taking place in the space and time of the exhibition.

Message Kart 2010 / Kenjai 2010 Ken-jai, a fun project from the up and coming architect, Pitupong Chuawakul, who invited 10 designer fellows to form a group TUUB (the sound when someone hits a table with their fist). The members of TUUB design heartshaped graphic for stickers and screened tshirts using the type of font commonly used for stickers tuckers put on their trucks. Both the stickers and t-shirts will be available for sale at mobile stalls around the fair at this years BDF. Some of the ideas for the concept come from the interpretation of Thai culture through simple design objects such as sticker and t-shirt. Another activity by the group is the projection of people in the design profession as an ordinary salaryman, who also has to work hard to make a living like other people in the society.

3 photographers project different courses of time and rhythm people design for different aspects of their lives. Tanaratch Wangsiripaisan proposes the idea that people can design their own attitudes to be the most valuable for themselves through the projection of the lives of the workers in the sugarcane field, who rank at the lowest position in the bitter sweet road of sugar industry. Prach Kongsapto Rohartchun illustrates the delicate allocation of life; the starting of a good family as the foundation of the design of our future and society, using the image of a family tree. Pijak Thanunchaiyabutr reflects the last design of life through the captured expressions of faces that will be remembered until the very last breath. The straightforward projections of mundane, yet, universal stories through the art of photography, with the hope for whoever has the chance to see these photographs to take a time to stop, look back at their own design of life, and find the right answer to the soul searching question, Do I have any regrets in the life Im leading?.

This year, he develops the very same concept into a puzzle game, using small systematical units to create the complete shape of Thailand. Ardel Gallery, 3rd place, Thonglor 18 Nov 10-26 Dec 10, 10.30- 19.00The exhibition Contemplation Improvisation presents abstract prinmaking by two artists from Chiang Mai; Thongchai Yukantapornpong and Kitikong Tilokwattanotai. Although each artist has different approach and technique to apply to their artworks, they both searching for a new and unique method in order to create these spectacular works. The new woodcut technique and intaglio works show ideas, motives and the contemplating mind of the artists. The flat plates that are left with scratching marks recorded the improvisation that transmits feelings and emotions. Even though the two printmaking techniques project two conflict characters, the difference are silently spoken through the language of printmaking in which also interestingly brought the fresh notions to this type of fine art.
