Aim of Previous WeekThe focal points of our studies are:
1. Electric Field Studies
2. Signal / Energy Deposition Studies
3. Magnetic Field Studies
A lot of progress in all three fronts!

Geometry of LIC

Electric Field StudiesImplemented a new field map (thanks to
Juan again) for the Electric field between the electrodes
Created some nice images of the field using that data
Re-drew the historams for the signal when shooting in the center, at the edge and just outside of the electrodes of LIC

Signal Studies
We are interested in comparing the signal of LIC in three different cases:
1. Ionization processes only2. All EM processes3. Full EM plus hadronic processes
![Page 11: BE-BI-BL Student Meeting 17/12/2012](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022081513/56816757550346895ddc1178/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
Include hadronic processesFor the hadronic case, found the best library
for the energy range of interest [0-10 GeV]: Bertini

Signal with EM only
![Page 13: BE-BI-BL Student Meeting 17/12/2012](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022081513/56816757550346895ddc1178/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
Signal with hadronics
![Page 14: BE-BI-BL Student Meeting 17/12/2012](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022081513/56816757550346895ddc1178/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Signal Studies
The signal when the hadronic processes are added is stronger (~10%) than with only EM
Also, its shape gets Landau-like instead of almost gaussian (EM-only case)
Some very energetic events with a huge signal
![Page 15: BE-BI-BL Student Meeting 17/12/2012](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022081513/56816757550346895ddc1178/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Magnetic Field Studies
Added a magnetic field in the entire volume of LIC
Verified that both the B-Field and the E-Field in LIC co-exist peacefully
Ran simulations with a constant magnetic field of values: 0 tesla, 0.01 tesla, 0.1 tesla and 1 tesla with a relatively narrow beam ( beam width: 0.5 mm) aiming at the center of the electrodes
![Page 16: BE-BI-BL Student Meeting 17/12/2012](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022081513/56816757550346895ddc1178/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
![Page 17: BE-BI-BL Student Meeting 17/12/2012](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022081513/56816757550346895ddc1178/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Magnetic Field Studies
When shooting at the center of the electrodes, no difference in the signal with a magnetic field up to 1 tesla.
What would happened if the beam was as wide as the electrodes (37.5 mm)?

Work still in progress
Get a map for the E-field in the entire gas-filled volume of LIC to see if we get extra signal from the feedthrough
Run some many-event runs for better statistics
