Dear Friends,I will never forget the day in 2015 that we stepped foot on the land at Capstone Primary School, deep in the jungle of the Kibale district of Uganda. I will never forget moving between the mud hut classrooms separated by tarps with just a glimpse into their daily life. We stood under a lean-to as the kids lined up to sing songs for us. That day, which, in the natural was much like many of our days in Uganda was actually very different. It was different because we knew that although we would leave Capstone, Capstone would never leave us. Our hearts were changed.

Pastor Joseph and Tryphosa Sekate found-ed Capstone in 2013. Pastor Joseph grew up in the Kyarukoka village and was an orphan, losing both parent’s at a young age. By God’s grace and mercy he made it to the city and was taken under the wing of a Pastor that found him and his broth-er sleeping in the church. They were able to get educated and are both serving the Lord as Pastors today. Pastor Joseph was determined to help the kids of his village by starting a school. Capstone was born.

In Uganda there is no free or public education. Every child is required to pay a tuition, buy all their own school supplies, uniform and activity clothing.

EDUCATION IN UGANDA

For kids like Nabosi Tumushabe who is the

youngest of three children, an orphan, living with his

peasant farmer grandmother, an opportunity for education means hope for a better life.

Last year we began a child sponsorship program that has propelled hope, life, change, and education to a new level for kids like Nabosi. The child sponsor-ship program is unique because 100% of the money given by sponsors goes to the children at Capstone.

In 2017 a team of eleven went to Uganda and were able to meet the children they have been sponsoring! This was once again a day that hearts were changed and bonds were made. For us, it was exciting to see the changes made in less than a year. The kids had a warm meal being prepared, more of the kids were in uniforms, the lean-to was enclosed with timber and separated into two new classrooms, the tarps were gone, walls were in place and the children were even more vibrant than before. And, there were MORE of them!! The school has grown 65% and is bursting at the seams!

What we are able to do together for the kids at Capstone is nothing short of a miracle orchestrated through us by God’s grace. We are a blessed nation with free education, clean water, food and safety. As we outstretch our hands, resources, and prayers, we can provide the same security for the kids at Capstone. We do this for kids like Nabosi who is labeled by the world as an orphan, but through your generosity he is now proclaimed a Kingdom Kid! THE VISION

Because International / The Shoes That Grow: In June 2017 Lighthouse Ministry Worldwide became a distribution partner for The Shoes ThatGrowinUganda,Africa.Ourfirstdistri-bution of 31 pairs of shoes were to the kids at Capstone. The Life Bible College Mission Team washed the feet of the children and placed shoes on their feet. For many of these kids,itwastheirfirstpairofshoesever! United Way: As a Partner Agency since 2015 with United Way Treasure Valley, your work-place giving can be directed to Lighthouse Ministry Worldwide.
