These were checked and reports are being prepared for

    Assessment 1

Whilst some of the assessments were very easy to gothrough Some assessments were difficult to follow what

students intended to say in them Careful you arestudents studying in Australia

    Syntax, English and GrammarSpelling! Careful

You might need to learn more how to speed-readand

my advice will be for you to try and read every day ajournal articlethis only comes with practice (both thereflective, critical and academic writing and reading)

    Well very SIMPLE ISSUES but

were not expected - some of what I

    have noticed

    No spacingbetween

    paragraphs

    No page numbers

    No name whensaving the file

    (draft.doc) this is

not a way to savea file

Others SOME, NOT ALL, have been

    creative and imaginative

    Used some images

    Very professionalpresentation of the

    assignment

    Built up proper

arguments that led tothe warning signs...

    Used PEER-REVIEWED JOURNAL

    ARTICLES

    Graphs/Tables/Models

    Concept maps etc

    Assessment 1

Unfortunately, not all were able to develop argumentslogically what I have noticed (with the majority of theassignments) that you would bring in one source and

keep on hammering that source to write up aparagraph this is not an academic argument as

mentioned in the classes earlieryou needed to readmore than one RELATIVE peer-reviewed article, or

source and synthesise the ideasfind a trend in theauthorship and take it from there.

Do not depend on one article for the whole argument,

some authors are biased to one idea and this mightaffect your judgement. Very weak in this aspect...

    Accurately identifying the problem

Not all of you had identified theCORE problem - and all otherproblems would have been an

    outcome of this one.

Some, while they identified the mainproblem, but immediately brushed itoff for the sake of other problems

which were originally generated fromthis CORE one

    Accurately defining the issues and

    context

Here we need to witness someoriginality and independent

thoughtin testing differentperspectives on the issues

For example we asked you to look atthe four perspectivesthe majority of youdid not move beyond this and bring insome of the warning signs or otherissues that were raised during the firstthree sessions of this unit.

    Supporting analysis with relevant

    literature

Some students have brought in some 2013sources from

    Journal of Business Ethics,

    Academy of Management,

    Business Ethics Quarterly, and

    Business Ethics European Review (BEER)

However, others went for other sources and textbooksfrom 1870 and 1930 while this is good to include(especially old books), which is relevant to this unit being

rooted in old philosophies, nonetheless, these books alonedo not tell me that you understand you need to supportthis with the latest PEER-REVIEWED ARTICLES

    Using relevant theory to develop

    solutions to case

Yes you have incorporatedthe FOUR perspectives but,in some cases, unfortunately,

it was superficial we arelooking at depth of insight into

    theoretical issues andORIGINALITY of application.

For example, one studentincluded a statement derivedfrom (one of the booksrecommended for this unit)

this statement did not tie upwith the surroundings in thatassignment which isunacceptable, and especiallyat third year level.

    Identifying and evaluating

    alternatives Well

you need to engage in a debate with yourself

to identify, evaluate and choose from the alternatives your choicemust be justified and reasoned.

You needed to display that using the same ethics that originally causedthe problem will not work this will most likely be a combination ofperspectives.

    AND NOT

For example after the discussion of the four perspectivessuddenly the student will bring in a statement that would statedeontology would be the best perspective
