BaliAIRFARE, 7 NIGHTS + 3 EXPERIENCESWith stunning beaches, a verdant and varied landscape, mouth-watering fare and rich culture, Indonesia’s island jewel a one-size-fits-all kind of holiday. You’ll be spoiled for choice no matter your style of travel. Kuta delivers plenty of fun in the sun along with a hoard of accommodation options and lively entertainment scene. For those that prefer the tranquil rewards of a secluded villa complete with private plunge pool, Bali’s got that covered too.

ExploreWhen it comes to things to do, you can do it all or nothing at all. Aquatic fun comes in the form of waterslides, white-water adrenalin or a day bed by the water’s edge, while on dry land you can get in touch with your spiritual side with a temple visit or show off your culinary prowess in a cooking class. Our choice of activities will ensure you can explore all Bali has to offer, your way.

Eat & drinkStreet food in Bali is common and often includes the popular satay dish ‘Sate Lilit’ – a grilled dish of minced seafood served on a lemongrass stick. Unlike the rest of the predominantly Muslim nation, Bali is a great place to eat pork dishes such as ‘Babi Guling’ – a ceremonial dish of roast suckling pig served with rice.

ShoppingEnticing conversion rates make shopping a popular pastime for visitors to Bali. From inexpensive trinkets at Kuta Art Market to high-end clothes and jewellery in Seminyak, Bali offers a great range of shopping options.

Bali like a localMount Agung may be the highest mountain on the island, but Mount Batur is the summit to scale for spectacular sunrise views.

Uluwatu Sundowner Dinner at Jimbaran» Balinese sunsets are truly special and they don’t get any better than in Uluwatu. You’ll visit the celebrated temple of Pura Luhur Uluwatu, perched high above the water, and watch the huge waves roll in and crash against the cliffs. Keep an eye out for monkeys; they love Uluwatu as much as we do! The tour continues on to Jimbaran Bay, where a sumptuous Balinese-style seafood barbecue awaits. Enjoy the exuberant tunes of the wandering Batak singers and drink in the ambience. Tables are set on the sand, while the waves crash on the shoreline only metres away.

Tanah Lot Sunset & Sunset Tour» The three stops on this tour present the significance of Balinese culture, history and nature. Discover the inhabitants of Alas Kedaton, a sacred forest known for its big population of macaques, but beware of your belongings. The cheeky monkeys will grab anything that isn’t pinned down! Continue onto Mengwi and visit the former Royal Temple, Pura Taman Ayun. Your day will culminate in a sunset visit to Tanah Lot, arguably the most photographed temple in Bali. Perched precariously on a rock just offshore, this temple is a must-see when the area takes on a surreal feeling as the sun sets.

White Water Rafting» The action starts when you launch into a 9.6km river stretch, navigating through 33 class II and III rapids set against a backdrop of wild unspoiled rainforest and magnificent rice paddy terraces. Experienced guides pilot rafts through dramatic drops and waterfalls to make your Bali rafting ride a fun and awesome experience. End the action-packed journey with a hot shower and a delicious buffet at a private restaurant overlooking majestic mountains and rice fields. Bali Adventure Tours is the only rafting company on the island using equipment approved to international standards.

Canyon Tubing» Twists, turns and tubes – revel in aquatic thrills on this one-day canyon tubing excursion. Following a thorough safety briefing and transfer to the remote Kertha village in the Payangan area, you’ll journey through tropical wilderness to the edge of a hidden canyon on Siap Stream. The adventure begins as you descend the canyon and hop on an inflatable tube for a leisurely float down the river. In places, the stream is impossible to negotiate, which is where the zip-line comes in! Zoom through the air as your guide transports your tube, or take the wooden footbridge and continue floating downstream. Tubing is a fun day for the whole family!

Ubud & Rice Field Tour» The treasures of Ubud await on this fascinating day tour. You’ll begin with a visit to the Tohpati community, where the famous Balinese Batik fabrics are expertly created. Nothing says ‘wish you were here’ like a one-of-a-kind handmade souvenir for your loved ones back home. Next, witness the spellbinding, cascading rice fields of Tegalalang, before lunch in Ubud. No trip to the area would be complete without paying the cheeky macaque monkeys a visit, either. The last stop of the day is the lively Ubud Markets where you’ll have the opportunity to put your best bargaining skills to the test.

Casa Luna Cooking Class» Do you consider yourself a bit of a masterchef? Or perhaps you just love to eat? At the Casa Luna Cooking School, you’ll spend the day learning, chopping, savouring and creating the spicy, yet balanced flavours of Balinese food across an array of dishes. The school offers more than just cooking, with an insight into daily life, beliefs and the important role food plays in shaping cultural traditions. You’ll join other like-minded foodies to create a lavish banquet feast with all the trimmings. And the best part of all? You get to enjoy the fruits of your labour with a glass or two of rice wine and tea.

Flight Duration (HOURS)

Fly direct with Fiji Airways from Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Jetstar from Gold Coast and Sydney.

Virgin Australia from Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Fiji ticks all the boxes of a tropical island paradise: squeaky white sand, mesmerising aquamarine water, smiling locals and swaying coconut palms. The dreamy archipelago and its sweep of coral reefs and 300 islands is what brochures and postcards are made of. Only about one third of the isles are inhabited, conjuring visions of a pure unexplored haven.

ExploreViti Levu is the largest and most developed island, home to the capital Suva and international transit point Nadi, and many beachfront Fiji resorts. Find your perfect holiday bliss in one of Fiji’s most impressive hideaways. Keep up the serenity within the resort grounds, floating from day bed to day spa, or soak up a legendary Fijian sunset on an afternoon boat cruise. If you’re leisure style is a bit more active, try your hand at diving, kayaking or zip-lining.

Eat & drinkA delicious example of Fijian cuisine is ‘kokoda’, a raw fish salad made with coconut cream. If you try the ubiquitous local drink kava, you won’t forget it in a hurry. The root drink makes your lips and tongue tingle and head feel especially light!

ShoppingWhile you might not end up with many tangible goods, you can buy a little leisure in a massage hut, day spa or Fiji’s famous mud baths with a treatment or two. A Fiji shopping list might also include South Sea pearls and local hand-made trinkets from the Nadi and Suva craft markets.

Fiji like a localWhen you explore this part of the South Pacific, you’ll get an introduction to ‘Fiji time’. It’s the same as ‘island time’ – things happen, when they happen. There is no need to rush when you’re surrounded by beautiful scenery.

Culturally diverse and naturally exquisite, overtly friendly and historically rich, Vietnam has it all – and then some! Bordered by China, Laos and Cambodia, this ancient country boasts beautiful scenery and some of Southeast Asia’s most welcoming hospitality. From the heart and soul of Hoi An to the revamped, modernist feel of Da Nang, this endearing country is a veritable playground.

ExploreFollow the cultural trail through the northern reaches and see where it takes you – an imperial ancient city or an offshore utopia. Beach-goers may want to focus their sights on Hoi An and Da Nang, where an eclectic blend of captivating culture, exciting foodie scenes and stretches of inviting golden sands ensure more than enough to pique your interest. Or venture an hour outside the towns for cycling and boat day trips.

Eat & drinkThough not famous for being a drinking destination, Hoi An more than makes up for it by being an irresistibly tasty eating destination, especially around Bach Dang Street. A particular local favourite is banh bao dumplings, though steaming bowls of pho or crusty banh mi will always be within arm’s reach in both destnations.

ShoppingWhile you’re in Hoi An, order a bespoke suit or dress for a personalised souvenir from your trip. In Da Nang, head straight to Non Nuoc village for hand-crafted stone gifts for the folks back home.

Hoi An & Da Nang like a localSampling local Vietnamese cuisine is reason enough to visit Hoi An. For some sun, the southern beaches of Da Nang are the most popular, with Bac My An Beach and Pham van Dong Beach being the most frequented.

Half-Day Walking Tour» Venture deep into the heart of charming Hoi An, arguably one of Vietnam’s most historic and atmospheric cities, on a half-day walking tour. Discover the former trading port that welcomed Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Arab merchants between the 16 and 18th centuries. Today, the UNESCO World Heritage-listed site is famous for its restored architecture, homemade silk, tailors and culinary scene. You’ll pass through narrow pedestrian-only streets and traditional homes as you learn about the city’s colourful past. Highlights along the way include the 400-year old Japanese Covered Bridge.

Half Day Cycling & Boat Making Village» Experience the beauty of Vietnam up close with a cycling tour through its varied landscapes. Start things off with a 35-minute cruise along the Quang Nam Province before stopping for a visit to a local boat-making village, Kim Bong. Hear the story of traditional Vietnamese seamanship as you explore this charming village. Then hop aboard your bicycle for a cycling tour through tranquil paddy fields and villages. There is ample opportunity to make pit stops along the way, including a stop to see traditional handicraft villages where local craftsman create sleeping mats. Cycle back to Hoi An to finish your half-day tour.

Sunset Cruise» Hoi An comes alive when the sun begins to set as local fisherman take to the seas in hopes of a big catch. Witness this parade of fishing fleets with a sunset cruise, watching the locals at work as the sun begins to sink in the western sky. Setting adrift in a Vietnamese bamboo basket boat, you will soon master the skill of paddling and steering these unique watercraft. It’s often harder than it looks so you may get wet in the process! Then it’s onboard the Hoi Eco-tour boat to savour the last rays of the sun with refreshments. This includes a selection of cold beer and soft drinks as well as a complimentary Vietnamese snack. Kick back, relax and enjoy the views.

Cooking Class with Transfer» If you’re looking for a new way to experience the vibrant food scene of Hoi An, a Vietnamese cooking class at the Red Bridge Cooking School is the perfect option. You will start your culinary journey with a trip to the markets with a local chef where you will shop for the freshest of ingredients. You’ll then transfer via boat to the school to set about testing your skills at rolling rice paper rolls, filling claypots and creating the beautiful garnishes that accompany the food. Once you’ve finished, you’ll sit down to savour the spoils with a delicious group lunch that includes the food you’ve prepared. A must-do experience for any foodie!

Lantern Making» The beautiful silk lanterns of Hoi An are some of the most colourful icons of Vietnam. Setting an ambient glow throughout the historic town after the sun sets, it will be hard not to fall in love with these handicrafts. This is your chance to learn how to make these stunning pieces of art. You’ll be whisked out of town to visit a small workshop where you’ll discover exactly how these lanterns are produced. Showcasing the fine, meticulous craftsmanship that goes into each one, you will see first-hand the way silk and bamboo are expertly combined. Then it’s your turn! Choose from a range of patterns and silks to create a unique souvenir of your time in Hoi An.

ExploreKoh Samui’s top attractions are generally on or near the water. Its two main beaches are Chaweng and Lamai, although quieter options can be found if you venture a few minutes further. If you can peel yourself away from the spectacular beaches, hidden temples pepper the streets, while Angthong Marine National Park is perfect for diving, snorkelling and spying the underwater world.
