The Bulldogs are 3-3 all-time in Thursday games, while Farragut is 5-4 on Thursdays. Farragut is 16-2 in the last 18 meetings with Bearden. 14 of those 18 meetings came in the regular season. Freshman quarterback Collin Ironside played all of the second half against Hardin Valley and may get the start tonight. Ironside is 15 for 29 passing for 184 yards and three interceptions so far this season and has played the majority of the second half in all three games. Bearden’s streak of playing on Pilot Flying J turf field donations continues this week, as Farragut was one of the five schools along with Bearden to receive a turf field for the 2016 season. Farragut Head Coach Eddie Courtney is 18-6 against Bearden in his 21 seasons as the Admirals’ coach (2-1 in the playoffs). LAST MEETING Sept. 11, 2015 Farragut running back Tanner Thomas rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns, and Farragut dominated in their third straight win over Bearden in the Battle for West Knoxville, 40-9. The game featured a one hour, 20-minute lightning delay in the second quarter. Farragut got the ball first and marched 76 yards to take a quick 7-0 lead, and never looked back. The Admirals would extend their lead all the way to 27-0 before Ty Warren scored on a 2- yard run to give Bearden its only offensive score of the day. In the fourth quarter, Bearden linebacker Cameron Miller tackled a Farragut player in the end zone for a safety. Miller finished with eight tackles to lead the Bearden defense, while offensively, Warren rushed for 63 yards. The game was Bearden’s second lowest scoring and yardage output of the 2015 season. SERIES INFO Farragut owns a 39-20 all-time series lead over Bearden. The first meeting was in 1949, Bearden’s first season of football. Farragut has won three straight over Bearden.
