Allergies

When the weather improves and the

flowers are in bloom, it can be a

beautiful time of year, but it can also

be extremely unpleasant for those

suffering from seasonal allergies.

Instead of turning to medication, try

these natural remedies to curb your

sneezing.

Neti PotThe nasal passages can get coated with allergens and

irritants, and the Neti pot is just a way of washing out

the nose and throat, clearing the sinuses. When you

use a Neti pot, use filtered water, boil it to sterilize

and let cool. You can do a salt water sinus rinse by

mixing sea salt with warm water and sucking it up

one nostril. This is great when you are having trouble

sleeping or having an acute attack.

Raw honey that is produced in your

area has been known to help the body

acclimate to the specific pollen you

might be breathing in. Taking a

tablespoon of local, raw honey can

build a tolerance, plus, it’s delicious!

up, mix eucalyptus oil with

your chest and throat.

The sweet thing about all these options with few exceptions is that they are multi-functional when it comes to health, so it’s never a bad idea to keep them around the house.  Fight nature with nature and keep all that new energy that spring affords us – without waiting until the pollen dies down.
