Because of ChristPhilippians 1:12-14
12And I want you to know, my dear
brothers and sisters, that
everything that has happened to
me here has helped to spread the
Good News.
Because of Christ
Philippians 1:12-14
13For everyone here, including the
whole palace guard, knows that I
am in chains because of Christ. 14And because of my
imprisonment, most of the
believers here have gained
confidence and boldly speak God’s
message without fear. NLT
Because of Christ
Philippians 1:12-14
I. Paul’s imprisonment had an
impact on Nonbelievers.
Acts 1:8
But you will receive
power when the Holy
Spirit comes upon
you. And you will be
my witnesses, telling
people about me
everywhere—in
Jerusalem,
throughout Judea, in
Samaria, and to the
ends of the earth.” NLT
Paul didn’t rely
on manipulation
or guilt in
sharing God’s
message but the
power of God.
1 Thessalonians 2:1-2
You yourselves know, dear
brothers and sisters, that our visit
to you was not a failure. 2You know
how badly we had been treated at
Philippi just before we came to you
and how much we suffered there.
1 Thessalonians 2:1-2
Yet our God gave us the courage
to declare his Good News to you
boldly, in spite of great opposition.
NLT
2 Timothy 2:8-10
This is the Good News I preach. 9And because I preach this Good
News, I am suffering and have
been chained like a criminal. But
the word of God cannot be
chained.
2 Timothy 2:8-10
10So I am willing to endure
anything if it will bring salvation
and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to
those God has chosen. NLT
Because of Christ
Philippians 1:12-14
II. Paul’s imprisonment had an
impact on Believers.
Acts 20:24
But my life is worth nothing to me
unless I use it for finishing the work
assigned me by the Lord Jesus—
the work of telling others the Good
News about the wonderful grace of
God. NLT
Romans 1:14-16
For I have a great sense of
obligation to people in both the
civilized world and the rest of the
world, to the educated and
uneducated alike. 15So I am eager
to come to you in Rome, too, to
preach the Good News.
Romans 1:14-16
16For I am not ashamed of this
Good News about Christ. It is the
power of God at work, saving
everyone who believes—the Jew
first and also the Gentile. NLT
1 Corinthians 9:16
Yet preaching the Good News is
not something I can boast about. I
am compelled by God to do it. How
terrible for me if I didn’t preach the
Good News! NLT
Because of Christ
Philippians 1:12-14
III. Paul has a major concern in
spreading the Gospel
Proclaiming
2 Corinthians 8:18
We are also sending
another brother with
Titus. All the
churches praise him
as a preacher of the
Good News. NLT
Proclaiming
Philippians 4:3
And I ask you, my
true partner, to help
these two women, for
they worked hard with
me in telling others
the Good News. They
worked along with
Clement and the rest
of my co-workers,
whose names are
written in the Book of
Life. NLT

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
Let me now remind
you, dear brothers
and sisters, of the
Good News I
preached to you
before. You
welcomed it then, and
you still stand firm in
it.

2It is this Good News
that saves you if you
continue to believe the
message I told you-
unless, of course, you
believed something
that was never true in
the first place. 3I
passed on to you what
was most important
and what had also
been passed on to
me.

Christ died for our
sins, just as the
Scriptures said. 4He
was buried, and he
was raised from the
dead on the third day,
just as the Scriptures
said. NLT
God Strengthens
Romans 16:25-26 – Now all glory to God,
who is able to make you strong, just as my
Good News says. This message about
Jesus Christ has revealed his plan for you
Gentiles, a plan kept secret from the
beginning of time. 26But now as the
prophets foretold and as the eternal God
has commanded, this message is made
known to all Gentiles everywhere, so that
they too might believe and obey him. NLT
Do you expect God
to give you opportunities?
Are you looking
for those opportunities?
Are you available to share
God’s Good News?
Paul was aware of what Jesus
had done for him and he
wanted to glorify God by
sharing the Gospel.
Are you available to share
God’s Good News?
Are you available to share
God’s Good News?
Do you remember what
God has done for you?
The Gospel Needs God’s
Enlightenment to be Understood
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 – If the Good News
we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is
hidden only from people who are
perishing. 4Satan, who is the god of this
world, has blinded the minds of those who
don’t believe. They are unable to see the
glorious light of the Good News. They
don’t understand this message about the
glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness
of God. NLT
God calls people
to salvation
through the
preacher
2 Thess. 2:14
He called you to
salvation when we
told you the Good
News; now you
can share in the
glory of our Lord
Jesus Christ. NLT
Not all are
chosen by God
for Salvation
Acts 13:48
When the Gentiles
heard this, they were
very glad and
thanked the Lord for
his message; and all
who were chosen for
eternal life became
believers. NLT
Many
are
called to
salvation
Matthew 22:14
“For many are called,
but few are chosen.” NLT
Be Clear
About
Your Role
Romans 15:18
Yet I dare not boast
about anything
except what Christ
has done through me,
bringing the Gentiles
to God by my
message and by the
way I worked among
them. NLT
Because of Christ
Philippians 1:12-14
IV. Meditation and Application
If you are a
Christian, you
have the
privilege of
experiencing the
abundant life
God has chosen
to give you.
Are you available
for God to use
in anyway
He chooses?
Are you willing
to be sent?
