Becoming a Member Membership of the Wanstead Historical Society is open to anyone and everyone. Membership of the Society runs from September to May of each year. If you would like to become a member then send your name and address, with a cheque for £12 (single) or £18 (couples or two people living at the same address), made payable to Wanstead Historical Society ONLY and send it to our Treasurer, Mrs Doreen Golding, 73 Gardner Close, Kingfisher Avenue, Wanstead, London, E112HW. Alternatively, you can join at one of our meetings. Please note: Details of all our members are held on a computer and are used by the Committee for administrative purposes only, to send you the programme, Wanstead Record and other information etc. They will NEYER be passed to any other organisation. About the Society The Wanstead Historical Society was founded in 1961. The aim of the Society is to foster an interest in the history of Wanstead and the surrounding district and in history in general. The Society presents a series oflectures on all aspects of history, both local and national. The Society's publication, the Wanstead Record, is published once a year and is free to members.

Subscriptions The annual subscription is £12 for individuals and £18 for couples ( or two people living at the same address.) For this members can attend all lectures without further charge.

When We Meet From September 2018 our meetings will be held on the .E.IBS'.[ MONDAY of the month. We no longer meet on Thursdays. Doors open at 7.45pm. Talks start at 8.00pm prompt The meetings are open

' to visitors for a charge of £3. Refreshments are available.

Where We Meet Our meetings take place in the Churchill Room, Wanstead Library, Spratt Hall Road, Wanstead Ell 2EQ. Facilities are provided for disabled visitors.
