Turn in your nominations for the “Teacher of the Year” and “Employee of the Year”. Students, former students, parents, colleagues, administra- tors, or members of the general public may nominate a CPCSC teacher and/or classified employee. There is no limit to the number of teachers or classified employees a person may nominate. Please complete a separate nomination form for each teacher and/or classified employee you wish to nominate. The nomination forms can be found online at www.cps.k12.in.us or you can pick up a copy in the office. Nominations forms must be received no later than Wednesday, March 1, 2017 . STINGERS ROCK! ISTEP testing is NEXT WEEK! 3rd graders will test Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and the 4th and 5th graders will be testing Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. Standardized tests are tough. The answer depends on how prepared your child is. Explain that the tests will show how much he has learned. Encour- age him to try his best, but don’t put so much emphasis on the tests that he feels stressed. Limit activities the night before tests. You may want to avoid having guests for dinner, or let him skip his brother’s game if it means being out late. Be sure your child gets to bed on time and sets an alarm for the next morning. On test day, give him an energy- boosting breakfast. Try to include both protein (eggs, yogurt, milk) and carbohydrates (fruit, oatmeal, toast). Regular aendance in elementary school sets up a good paern for your child’s enre school career. Show your child that school comes first by trying to keep days off for illness and family emergencies. Also, schedule roune doctor and denst appointments for aer school or over school breaks.

2017 Crown Point St. Patrick’s Day Logo Contest

Here’s a project for this weekend! Make a logo for

Crown Point’s annual logo contest and enter to win a

chance to ride the Molly the Trolley for family and

friends! The 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive

VIP seang ckets for their immediate family in the bleacher area and

a T-shirt the day of the event.

All entries must be received by the Mayor’s office of Special Events,

located at 11035 Broadway, Suite E in Crown Point by March 1st.

Each entry must be submi(ed on the front of the template provided

by The City of Crown Point. The template is available at

www.crownpoint.in.gov

The logo must not include tracing or computer generated artwork,

and it MUST include: a St. Patrick’s Day themed picture, The color

green, and the words “St. Patrick’s Day Parade”
