7Beethoven's Fifth

 Helpful tips from the composer:

1. Before you start learning this piece, listen to my recording to get a feel for it. (Note: A few notes in therecording are different than this sheet music, due to artistic license. I suggest you always follow the sheet music, but feel free to be adventuresome if you wish).

2. Through the whole piece, focus on the melody! This song has a lot of action going on, both during theloud and soft parts, so it is critical that you bring out the melody.

3. Use the dynamics and tempo markings in the music, along with what you hear in the recording, and

your own musical intuition, to contrast the loud and soft parts of the piece. Additional nuances in thetempo and dynamics are encouraged.

4. Enjoy the adventure! This is a very intense song. Be sure to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and stayhydrated while practicing it.
