applies allocation of 11 weekly US-Brazil combination

frequencies in order to institute ly nonstop service between

New York JFK and Rio de Janeiro and four-days-a-week nonstop

service between Miami and Brasilia ive October I 2010

Ame can proposes to round JFK-Rio de

Janeiro ce using 219-seat B763 aircraft (28F191Y)

Southbound f ghts will depart JFK at 2125 and arrive in

GIG at 0835 (+ 1) Northbound they will depart GIG at 2045

and arrive JFK at 0605 (+ 1) See Exhibit AA-I0l American

has 50 B763 aircraft in its fleet all of which comply with FAR

36 American hol New York-Rio de Janeiro certi cate auth-

ority on Route 389 segment 4 most recently renewed by Order

2001-5-26 May 24 2001 (timely renewal appl pending)

Brasilia nonstop service four a week using 182-seat B757

rcraft (16C166Y) Southbound the flights will depart MIA

on Wednesdays Fridays and Sundays at 2310 and

arrive in BSB at 0740 (+ 1) Northbound they will depart BSB

on Thursdays Saturdays Sundays and Mondays at 0940 and

arrive in MIA at 1620 See t AA-I02 American has 18

without nonstop US flag service In a previous Brazil

on-line roundtrip connections to a number of major US cities

including Boston Washington Los Angeles San Francisco

Cincinnati Indianapolis and RaleighDurham (Exhibit AA-I03)

American recently entered into a codeshare alliance with Gol

Brazils largest carrier (DOT-OST-2010-0009) American will

offer AA service on Gol beyond Rio de Janeiro to other cities

in Brazil

Americans Miami-Brasilia flights will provide the

only nonstop US carrier service to Brasilia from Miami the

largest US gateway to Brazil and indeed to all of South

America Behind Miami American will offer convenient on-line

roundtrip connections to more than 40 cities including

Atlanta Boston Chicago DallasFt Worth Denver Las Vegas

Los Angeles New York Newark Orlando Philadelphia Raleigh

Durham San Francisco San Juan St Louis and Tampa (Exhibit

AA-I04) Gol has a strong presence at Brasilia and American

will provide AA service on Gol beyond Brasilia to other cities

in Brazil

For the foregoing reasons the Department should

promptly grant Americans application for 11 weekly US-Brazil

combination frequencies which American will use for year-round

New York JFK-Rio de Janeiro and Miami-Brasilia nonstop service

effective October I 2010
