1. Helmet

Protect Your Noggin.

2. Two Bike Locks (or Combo Lock)

Total: $30-$45 ($12.00 & $27.50 OR $29.50)Why two Bike Locks? It takes about 15 seconds for a thief to be riding away on your bike. The harder it is to steal the better. (See the end of the PPT for extra info)

3. Bike Pump

Important Features:

Pressure Gauge – Easiest way to know when your tire is full

Floor Stand (Included in both) – Road bike tires are ~100 psi. Makes it so pumping your bike isn’t an entire work out on its own.

Travel size – If you plan on doing trails, long rides or just in case!

The helmet price is a huge part of the basic start-up gear as a new cyclist. Don’t skimp out on your helmet. It should be comfortable to wear for many hours on a hot day. Make sure your helmet was safety certified.

Make sure you like how it looks and feels! For the sake of your noggin’ buy a helmet you want to wear.

Other Tips on Locking Your Bike The tires come off – pass your lock through something hard Ex. Frame or Fork

Nothing Easily Removable – Quick release front tires, expensive bike computers, Panniers etc
