• Fine dining restaurants are full service restaurants with specific dedicated meal courses.
• This is the most costliest type of restaurants.• Higher-quality materials are used for decoration of Fine
dining restaurants to create an atmosphere required by the restaurateur.
• Such restaurants have certain rules of dining, which the visitors are expected to follow such as the dress code, arrangement of things on the table, order of having different kinds of food etc.
• The food looks good and tastes good and cost is much higher.
• Highly decorated, calm atmosphere with soft background music played at low volume, to maintain privacy
• Not too loud, not too bright, art on walls• No intense lighting is used. Cool lighting is used to
create the required ambience• Candles may be used on each table with dim lighting all
around• The wait staffs are usually highly trained and often wear
more formal dress. The chefs are also talented people who acquired degree in this field
SETTING A TABLE FOR FINE DINING
MATERIALS REQUIRED
• Table linens• Centerpiece• Candles, Candle holders /
Table lamps• Silverware• Cloth Napkins• Napkin rings• Glass set
STEPS OF ARRANGING TABLE
• Cover the table with a neat pad, cloth or lace covering
• If not covered with cloth, proper table tops should be used
• Arrange chairs such that people can sit comfortably without bumping elbows with seatmate
• Place the candles and lit them when the guest enters
• Set a formal charger ( a large round piece that sits below the plate). Place it at a distance of about 2 inches from edge of the table
• Place a cloth napkin with napkin ring on each charger • Arrange the silverware and glasses accordingly, following the
general rule of dining in fine dining restaurants• Place the forks cross or at an angle so that the server can
understand that you are not finished with your food. When finished place the knife and fork in the centre of the plate vertically
