Austin is the Live Music Capital of the World and Rodeo Austin is bringing you sixteen days of rockin’ bands. Rodeo Austin offers live music for everyone to enjoy. Check out the Rockin’ A Fairgrounds Stage for daily performances at 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
New for this year, Rodeo Austin will kick-off opening day on March 8th with a Rockin’ A Fairgrounds Stage concert featuring Casey Donahew Band at 8:00 pm. Fairgrounds admission is $8 for adults and $5 for kids ages 3 to 12. Concert is included with Fairgrounds admission; passes may be purchased online at RodeoAustin.com or at the gate on March 8th.

howcasing some of the best competition to hit the rodeo arena, the Super Shootout is a four event contest featuring the world’s best athletes
in a head to head battle for the right to be called Champion. This invitational event will spotlight ten contestants each in Bareback Riding, Barrel Racing, Saddle Bronc Riding, and Bull Riding, competing for $50,000 in prize money. In order to fill the 40 contestant spots, Rodeo Austin will invite only the best athletes from around the world.
This hoof-stomping, heart-pounding event will close out the Fair and Rodeo on Saturday, March 23rd.
Fans will also get to rally behind a TEAM RODEO AUSTIN member in each event. Get ready for a supercharged four event championship rodeo that will get you fired up!
National recording artist Gary Allan will take the stage after the champions have been named for a rockin’ country concert.

TEAM RODEO AUSTIN is hard at work gearing up for the 2013 Fair and Rodeo. This issue spotlights Haley Luedke, Corporate Relations Coordinator and Joby Lee Strachan, Exhibits Coordinator.
Rodeo Austin’s official Souvenir Shop offers top quality gear ranging from t-shirts and caps to collectors’ items such as year pins and belt buckles.
Haley grew up just down the road from Waco, Texas in the small town of Mart. She graduated from the University of Texas and received her degree in Sports Management. Haley is no stranger to the world of Rodeo and spent time working in the sponsorship department at Professional Bull Riders (PBR) in Colorado. As the Corporate Relations Coordinator, Haley works with over 70 corporate sponsors. During the Fair and Rodeo drop by the RAM Test Drive exhibit and say “hi” to Haley.
Joby Lee was raised in Fort Hancock on her family’s cotton farm, but she’s lived in New Mexico, North Carolina and the Big Apple. She graduated from New Mexico State Univeristy with a degree in Marketing and went on to receive her Masters at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. As the Exhibits Coordinator, she handles the carnival, commercial exhibits and food vendors. She works with over 200 vendors and can be found on the Fairgrounds from dusk till dawn ensuring all exhibits are up and running without a hitch.

On Saturday, January 26th, Rodeo Austin held the first ever Fashion and Fine Art event presented by Ford. A combination of the Youth Western Art Show and Miss Rodeo Austin Style Show & Coronation; Fashion and Fine Art hosted students from across the state at the Long Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Austin.
Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails as they made their way through the student gallery during the Youth Western Art Show. This contest allows students to express their creativity in the form of photography, digital art and traditional art (illustrations and sculptures) following a Western theme. High school students from across the state submitted their entries and attended the event in hopes of earning one of the top 24

spots. The top 24 pieces will be sold at the Youth Auction on March 22nd at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum.
Following the Youth Western Art Show, the Miss Rodeo Austin Style Show & Coronation ensued in the Kodosky Lounge. Eleven bright and beautiful ladies competed for the title of Miss Rodeo Austin and Miss Rodeo Austin Princess. During the Style Show, the contestants modeled unique designs and struck a pose in their best formal wear as they hit the stage for the Style Show. The winners were announced at the conclusion of the evening.
Miss Rodeo Austin 2013 is Alex Ingram of New Braunfels, Texas who will be awarded a $16,000 scholarship. McKenna Greene from Inez, Texas is Miss Rodeo Austin Princess 2013 and will receive a $10,000 scholarship. In the past four years, five Miss Rodeo Austin winners have received titles at the Miss Rodeo Texas Pageant. Miss Rodeo Austin and Miss Rodeo Austin Princess will take the crown at the first Rodeo performance in March.

The Junior Leader Program is one of Rodeo Austin’s newest membership levels. Junior Leaders are young men and women, ages 13 to 20, who participate as volunteers as well as serve as ambassadors for Rodeo Austin. As Junior Leaders, students learn valuable lessons and have the opportunity to interact with their community by promoting youth education and preserving western heritage.
Students involved in the Junior Leader Program have the opportunity to experience various aspects of the organization by working with a variety of committees on special projects.
bbq auction &Dance movesDowntownJoin Rodeo Austin for an evening on the town featuring Texas BBQ, shopping and live entertainment at the BBQ Auction & Dance presented by Ford and Niece Equipment on Saturday, March 2nd. This year’s event moves downtown to the Austin Music Hall where guests will enjoy the talent of Asleep at the Wheel. The evening will begin at 6:00 pm with happy hour, buffet and an auction preview. Following happy hour, guests
will enjoy opportunities to bid and purchase items such as hunting trips, fishing charters, golf packages and more. Funds generated during the BBQ Auction & Dance support the Rodeo Austin mission Promoting Youth Education – Preserving Western Heritage.
Individual tickets may be purchased for $35; tables range in price from $500 to $750. Tickets and tables are available for purchase online at RodeoAustin.com or by calling 512-919-3000.
