Ltd., for launch of their range of high quality, tasty and authentic Belgian frozen potato products in the Indian market. Agristo has partnered with WestCoast, a leading frozen products distribution company based in Mumbai, to bring their products into India and promote the good quality of Belgian potatoes. Videocon d2h launches the first large volume ZigBee deployment in India with GreenPeak silicon. Cross Freight India Pvt Ltd – Herfurth Logistics

Herfurth Logistics and Cross Freight India Pvt Ltd have signed an international agency contract to perform all kinds of logistics and transport activities. This agreement covers air and ocean freight and all related logistic services between Cross Freight offices in India and Herfurth offices in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Turkey.

Wearit Group –Pollet Water Group

The Pollet Water Group (BE) and Wearit Group (IN) have agreed to sign an MOU to create a joint-Venture. The main activity of the joint-venture will be to both manufacture and commercialize water treatment equipment in the Indian market. Pollet Water Group has been active in domestic and industrial water treatment for over 20 years in Europe. The Wearit Group has been active in India for many years in mainly the mining and textile industry.

The Pollet Group and Wearit group have now combined their strengths in order to get into the Indian water treatment market which is set for a spectacular growth in the next few years.

Hope on Wheels Foundation - UCB - UCB India Private Limited

UCB initiates the “Hope on Wheels” Epilepsy project in the Alwar District (rural Rajasthan).

Under the umbrella of the recently established “Hope on Wheels” Foundation, a unique initiative of UCB in association with the Indian Epilepsy Association and the Indian Epilepsy Society, a Epilepsy project is created in Alwar. The “Hope on Wheels” Foundation aims to (1) improve access to education, awareness, screening and diagnosis and management of patients living with epilepsy in remote parts of India; (2) address the stigma attached with epilepsy and improve the quality of life of these patients via follow-up through social workers, local health care workers and Panchayat support; and (3) provide access to neurologists using new communication and data exchange technologies, such as telemedicine. In this capacity, the “Hope on Wheels” Foundation already supports the Indian Epilepsy Association Bangalore chapter for raising of awareness of epilepsy and other brain diseases in rural communities of the State of Karnataka, reaching close to 5,000 children.

Now, the “Hope on Wheels” Epilepsy project in the Alwar District in the State of Rajasthan is launched; a project supported by the Ministry of Rajasthan with whom UCB signed an MOU. In this “Hope on Wheels” Epilepsy project, an epilepsy Mobile Health Clinic equipped with necessary screening and diagnostic tools and staff, composed of doctor, paramedical staff and social workers, will visit remote and rural parts of the Alwar District in the State of Rajasthan. This team will bring education and awareness about epilepsy to the general public and health care providers in close collaboration with State and local Health Authorities and community workers. The team will screen patients and provide adequate diagnosis of epilepsy and, with the Health Authorities, make treatment available in order to guarantee sustainable and affordable care for these patients living with epilepsy, offering them hope for a better future.

PRAJ Industries – VITO

Praj and VITO have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at establishing a strategic research alliance for evaluating and/or improving processes, infrastructure and plant design of current and new biorefineries. They will set up a stage wise collaborative research and development programme aimed at integrating VITO’s patented membrane pervaporation processes in the Praj distillation process. This may have a substantial benefit with regard to energy use and the reduction of the amount of effluent in bio alcohol production processes. The business that will result from this research will also benefit Flemish industries that will be producing the membranes.
