Randall was ministering to the church in Cape Town at the time

that I made up mind to seek training for the ministry Bro Randall suggested

that the schooling I needed could be received in the United States, and it was

arranged for me to attend the Cincinnati Bible Seminary.

On

looking

back it seems that first I

needed

a church home

where

I would

feel

at home, second that I needed to be put to work, and then to be approached

on the matter of the ministry.

Our purpose on

mission

field is first and foremost to bring Christ to the people.

This

in itself will be a life s work, and we hope that the church will be enlarged

and activitated, enough to be self-supporting and self-propagating. Rhodesia stands

in a unique position in Africa today.

In

the matter of race relations it has

made

some changes in political and legal matters. Most probably more will come, and

when they do the African Christian

must

be there to lead to peace harmony these

who live in that land. This will require

some

mature and practical response to hte

issues

of the day. As a citizen I hope that we can have

small

part in the eventual:

appearance of such leaders and teachers. The future happiness and work of the

chirch must of course depend

upon

the continued approval of the secular

powers

the future of the

missions

work depends upon this; and so does

my

own personal

happiness and security. Well-being is not our goal, but the proper and democratic

state will produce these results, which are so highly prized even here in the United

States Our work will be with the schools an d churches of th e frican

brethren

The schools will give us great opportunity to bring young people to Christ. We hope

also to encourage men to be trained for leadership as elders and evangelists. Besides

teaching we will be doing evangelism also (maybe that should be stated the other way

around). If there is any one particular thing I wish to accomplish it is to bring

men

faith in him. It seems all to easy to end up owing allegiance to mere formality

or education or a person or self almost anything but Christ This Satan has

done to so many of us

time to time and to be enabled of God to introduce

someone to a deeply personal
