Conjunctive Adverbs
What is a conjunctive adverb?
Conjunctive adverbs are individual words that can relate complete sentences or paragraphs to each other.
Example: Regardless, he never should have used her pen without asking.

Some examples of conjunctive adverbs are: However- indicates a contrast to another
phrase or sentence Consequently- used to describe the
result of an event or action Moreover- information will be added from
the previous sentence Accordingly- In a way that is appropriate
to the particular circumstances
Where do conjunctive adverbs go?!
Conjunctive adverbs can be positioned at the beginning or in the middle of a sentence.
Example:Tons of cabs flew past me; however, none of them stopped for me.
More examples…There are also a lot of conjunctive adverbs that help move a story along… First Then Next Finally
First, I used to get yelled at for being home too much, now I get yelled at for being out too much. Then, I used to get yelled at for sleeping too much, now she asks if I ever get sleep anymore. Finally, I told her not to worry and that I would try to get more sleep.
What punctuation goes around them?
If the conjunctive adverb is found at the beginning of the sentence, you put a comma after it.
If the conjunctive adverb is found in the middle of the sentence, you put a semicolon (;) before it and a comma after.

Add an apostrophe and an s to a singular noun, even if it ends in s.

ending in s.For example: the horses’ manes
