Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I met Jay Ginsburg when we were both students at UH. He then went to law school and I worked in banking until our son, Jason, was born. Jason now practices law with Jay. Our daughter, Sarah, was born 5 years later. Fast forward. Both kids graduated from college, married, and have made us proud grandparents. We now live in Bellaire, attend UH games, and enjoy our children and their children. Life is good.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I have lived in Bellaire all my life and even taught at the elementary school I attended(Cunningham). I have just finished one of the most rewarding 6 yrs. of my life--taking care of my bedridden mother who passed away Thanksgiving morning. It was hard but I wouldn't change a day of it. My daughters made it possible to take on this journey. Hug your loved ones. Someday they may not be there. I also take care of a neighbors 14 yr. old daughter and 4 yr.old son. He is the light of Nina's life.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I worked as a Flight Attendant for Delta Air Lines from 1970 to 1986, and enjoyed traveling. I graduated with a BA degree from Houston Baptist University in 1985, and then worked in the accounting field. I have been employed as a Financial Administrator, with the Middle District of Alabama, since 2005. I am also the accountant for a nonprofit organization in Montgomery, AL. I jogged for many years, and ran the Houston Tenneco Marathon in 1991. When I retire, I plan to move to Tyler, TX.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: My husband and I have enjoyed living in Silicon Valley in the San Jose area south of San Francisco since we got married. My 43-year career in teaching math at the high school level has involved teaching so many memorable young people in the Los Gatos community. We love having our two sons and grandson nearby. We have made it a point to travel internationally and have seen such amazing places as Machu Picchu and the Wall of China. As retirement nears for both of us, we hope to be able to travel some more.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I married Mike P. Smith in January, 1968. We lived in Corsicana for 30 years.We now live in Waxahachie, TX. I worked in our family business for a number of years and now have a Home Bakery. I wrote A River Swift and Deadly. It is about the 36th "Texas" Infantry Division at the Rapido River in World War II. It was published by Eakin Press in 1989.

I had various chemistry jobs and computer jobs until Exxon moved us to Baton Rouge after 10 years at Baytown. PTA for 8 years, until kids moved out. Then I joined with H&R Block. in 2008 he retired and in 2009 we went 2 weeks to Israel, and in 2011 moved to Waco, where he grew up; we have some family here. Go sic'em Bears! I was an attorney in Washington, DC, for three years (1984-87), but left the legal profession when I realized that I was much happier teaching high school math than filing legal briefs for corporate clients! First and foremost, I adopted twin girls at birth and raising twins has kept me on my toes for the past 42 years. My career and job opportunites were equally as rewarding learning as I progressed. Raising my own racehorse who quickly became the love of my life after winning many races and transitioning him to a new owner/career in jumping. Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Graduated in 1970 from Univ of Tex at Austin with a degree in Math, worked for Southwestern Bell in Houston as a supervisor and then was transferred to St Louis, Mo where I was trained as a programmer. After 7 years in St Louis, in 1981 I left Bell, got married, and took a job in Austin for a small tech company that was eventually bought by Computer Sciences Corporation. My first son was born in Austin in 1982 and my second son was born there in 1984. After continuing to program for several years, I moved into a business analyst position from which I retired in 2012.

I married at 22, have two wonderful children, and am now married for the second time (in 2014). We left Bellaire, where I raised my children, for Austin in 2005 and have not looked back! We live in south Austin on a golf course, even though we do not play, and are happily enjoying the Hill Country and all it has to offer. Highlights of my life: girl scouts, childhood friends and camping; being a parent and grandparent; getting my Ph.D.; finding my birth father and more family; my career; my friendships. My life work is a calling, and I love what I do. I just got back from Italy, and have a bucket list full of travel destinations to cram in. Heading to Disneyland with the grandkids in December. Life is full, and rich, and happy; I still feel 35!

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I remember all the fun my friends and I had after school, driving home and singing along to the latest Beatles or Beach Boys songs; driving down Rice Blvd. a little too fast and getting pulled over by the ever-present Bellaire cops; "TP-ing" houses. Growing up in Bellaire in the 1950's and 1960's was great. When I told my grandchildren that we were allowed to play outside without parental supervision they were shocked. I lived in the LA area for a few years and loved California's beaches and mountains, but it sure was good to come back home to Texas.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: After Bellaire, I started college at the University of Omaha, but left after two years, got married, we had two children in 1970 and 1973. Owned a used car business, returned to college at Oklahoma City University in '73 and graduated '76 with BS in Business. Started work in the building business and have worked for myself since 1980. Sold my company in 1988, and started another business, Southwest Builders, which I continue to work today. I know I will retire at some point, but I still enjoy the daily challenges. Continued in the travel business working for a travel agent, then for 26 years working for Aramco Services Company in the Corporate Travel Department. I retired from ASC in 2008 and went to work for CenterPoint Energy in the Meeting and Events Department. Through all my jobs, I was able to travel to places far and wide! My years with Aramco allowed me to travel to the Middle East which was the best experience of my life. I've also traveled to South America, Mexico, China, Turkey and all over Europe.

I was told by my doctors that I would need to start dialysis and that getting a new kidney would be the best alternative. I had to start dialysis January 20, 2015. The next few months were filled with acclimating myself to in-home dialysis administered by my husband. He was not a medical person but he was trained. Through the dog sports we enjoy, we hooked up with Bebs and Glenn Campbell, and now RV with them. Moved to NC to work for Western Electric (AT&T, Lucent, etc.) on USN ASW project for ~20 years. Great job, great people, great world-wide travels. Ended as a project mgr. there & carried on as same in the commercial part of Lucent. MS I.E. @ 1984. Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Texas Tech, moved to Dallas and taught school, worked as a loan processor then switched gears and started my own Interior Design business in 1982.Moved back to Bellaire in 1989 and continued my design business there until 2009 when I moved to Alvord Tx after my daughter and her family were transferred there. I managed a tasting room in a winery til I retired in 2013. Now building a house on our 10 acres in the country.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: BA/UT-1969. Taught high school Spanish in Austin. William & Mary Law- 1974. Lived 35 years in Philadelphia. Energy company general counsel, VP public policy/government affairs. Retired end of 2012, moved to Houston. Traveled a lot including China, Russia, Indonesia, Spain, etc. After growing up in Philadelphia, both our children settled in Houston before we moved back!

Interests: Family, church, outdoor activities, travel, reading, and writing.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: I was an elementary school teacher for 32 years. I taught upper grades and gifted and talented classes. I especially enjoyed directing annual musical productions with my students. I retired in 2014. Now I love taking my grandchildren to the Utah mountains to hike and play or to the library for story time. Steve and I usher for the Arts in Salt Lake City attending many plays, ballets, and concerts. We also enjoy traveling especially to island destinations or throughout the western states.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: For many years, I have been involved in endangered species conservation.I have been involved with Yellowstone National Park for many years and my focus is the wolf reintroduction project. Seeing habitat restored and species rebounding is most rewarding. I am fortunate that my life took this path.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: My twin, June, and I were born on our mother's birthday, September 17 . We were raised happily at 105 Whipple Drive. We attended Condit Elementary. Afterwards, we went to Jane Long Jr. High & onto Bellaire High School. I was very active in school. I loved my friends, most teachers ,student clubs, esp. Bellaire Belles!. I got a Bachelors in Ed. at U of H, where I met my beloved Joey . After a yr. of marriage, we had a son, Kevin. We settled in Florida where my Joey was a Club Golf Professional.11 yrs. later, we adopted our Lauren. I earned a Masters from USF & was in education for 35 yrs

Family: I'm married to Dane and we have a daughter, Rebecca and a son, Michael.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: After leaving Houston I met my husband Dane. We were married in Vikingsholm Point overlooking Lake Tahoe. We have a beautiful family and enjoy life in the Dallas Ft Worth area. I am involved in women's mentoring ministry in my church and I continue to work part time. I've been with the same company for almost 20 years. Dane also works part time and loves his job. Life is good.

Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: Attended Southwestern Univ.. B.Mus.Ed.- SMU; M.Mus.Ed.- Univ. of Hartrford. Taught elementary school music in Conn. for 9 years. Taught private piano and directed children's choirs (church). Spouse of college President for 25 last years-involved with students, staff, faculty, trustees, and donors of the 3 colleges we have served. Have enjoyed entertaining constituents in our campus homes. I treasure our close-knit family and our involvement in our daughters' lives and endeavors. Spending time with our dogs and grand dogs. Grateful for the education and good times I had at Bellaire.
