Bellwether October Newsletter
A Letter From Our PastorDear church family,
At our house, we say October to the end of theyear is a blur. It always is. At church too. Lotswill be going on, yet I hope it will all berenewing, for you and us together.
Like many of you, I hope for a lot of things. God provides some. The restHe uses to grow my patience. One of my primary hopes for this season inour church is we grow a unity of spirit. This is one of the reasons oursermon series now is Renew. It takes us slowly through Romans 12. This chapter is really about how Christians should live should they trulyknow the mercies of God. This is what I want most - for us to be renewedby God’s mercy - that He gave it all and He is a good Father. He is alwaysgiving, even if we don’t see it right away.
To this end, we move forward, Raising Leaders who See Love Go, for HisKingdom, on our corner and into the world.
I hope you See a Big God, in worship services and also in smaller B groups. We have many. From Wednesday night Prayer study to Tuesday morningmen, from Wednesday night Young at Heart to Thursday morning Radical, from women’s groups to Sunday morning group. These are tremendousways to connect to one another and to God.
I hope we Love the Other Person more. October presents a great
opportunity to Love our Neighbors with our annual Trunk or Treat. It’ll be onWednesday night October 25th. It’ll be a fun evening and we want to makeit a blessing for this community.
I hope we Go to the World more. From Spann tutors to the Honduras Salt& Light banquet, from Operation Christmas Child to the upcoming movieSame Kind Different As Me. From ministry in far flung places like India andItaly to ministry at home to a neighbor at a football game, a friend at aparty, or a youth who needs a mentor friend.
All of us have gifts. All of us can make a difference. Only all of us can beJesus’ church, to be His light on corner where He has placed us.
As we move forward, lets be all in - to pray for, worship, invite, love, serve, and grow. Together. With a purpose. With a mission. For Jesus. Forothers. For you.
When it’s all for Him it really is an adventure. It really is life changing. Iwant you all and us all to have it.
In Christ,
John Hugh

Bellwether Testimonials
LYNDA HONEA - Spann Book Buddy
“As adults we never know how much of an impact we are making inchildren’s lives. Sometimes we are able to see the progress and the positiveresults/friendships that are forming, sometimes we find out later in life whata difference we made and sometimes we just have to trust God that we aredoing good and making a difference...Being a leader for Christ in my familyand in our church community is very important to me. I am so grateful forthe opportunity to give back to our church neighborhood and volunteer withthe sweet students at Spann Elementary.”
TABOR WEISSINGER – Mustard Seed Faith Foundation
"We teach children who have grown up with this mentality that their soulsare just as valuable as the Heads of State in India and that they are just asloved by God as anyone else on the planet. You can watch the corner oftheir lips turn up ever so slightly and their eyes open wide while being told, probably for the first time, that they are important and are loved just asmuch as anyone else. That, in a nutshell, is the Holy Spirit reaching theirears.”
SPANN TEACHER - Delane Lesh
"Thank you Bellwether for being the Aaron and Hur to our Moses at Spannand for holding up our weary arms in support when we are tired of thebattle! Thank you for being the heart of Christ and loving our kids at SpannElementary!"
