Tips for a ThinnerThanksgiving

Gaining weight during the holidayseason is a national pastime. Didyou know that most people gain

at least a pound during theholiday? Some even gain more.Worst is most people keep that

weight on permanently. The good news is with a little

knowledge you can indulgeyourself in traditional holiday fareand still enjoy a guilt-freeThanksgiving feast. After all, beingstuffed is a good idea only if youare a turkey.

Get Active: Eat less and exercisemore during the holidays toprevent weight gain. Boost thefrequency of your fitness routinethe weeks ahead of the feast. Takea walk early Thanksgiving day andthen again after dinner if you are

up to it. It is a wonderful way forfamilies to get physical and enjoythe holiday at the same time.

Eat Breakfast: Eating a smallmeal in the morning may give youmore control over your hunger.Start your day with a healthybreakfast, preferably one withprotein and fiber which may helptake the edge off your cravingsand allow you to be more sensiblelater in the day during the“big feast”.

Watch your Portions: Beforefilling up your plate, evaluate thebuffet table and decide whatyou’re going to choose. Don’tsquander your calories on foodsthat you can have all year long.Indulge with small portions ofholiday favorites so you can enjoyyour traditional favorites

Skip the Seconds andLeftovers and only one slice ofthat pumpkin pie!!! :)

Gratitude ImprovesAttitude

“According to Forbesmagazine, gratitude improvesphysical health. Grateful peopleexperience fewer aches and painsand they report feeling healthierthan other people, according to a2012 study published inPersonality and IndividualDifferences. Not surprisingly, grateful people are also morelikely to take care of their health. They exercise more often and aremore likely to attend regularcheck-ups with their doctors, which is likely to contribute tofurther longevity.”
