Benefit for Madison Brown February 20, 2010 4:00 p.m. - ? Crosby Fairgrounds FM 2100 Auction/Band/Food/Games/Petting Zoo/Raffle Auction begins at 6:00 p.m. Madison Brown, daughter of Mike and Karen (Rucka) Brown and sister of Austin Brown, all of Crosby, Texas is 11 years old with a wonderful spirit and a sense of humor. Madi was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia on March 7, 2003 at the age of 4. Madison had a bone marrow transplant on December 16, 2005. Her brother, Austin, was the bone marrow donor. Madison’s Leukemia is in remission, but she suffers from Graft Vs. Host Disease. Her body has hardened from this disease and she is immobile. She spends her days and nights in bed or in a wheelchair. She can’t walk, sit in a chair or raise her arms. Madison has been in and out of the hospital since her diagnosis in 2003. Just this past summer (’09) she spent over 70 consecutive days in the hospital. Friends of Madi are planning a benefit for her and her family. On Saturday, February 20 there will be activities at the Crosby Fairgrounds planned for the entire community. Beginning at 4:00 p.m. there will be bbq plates sold, children’s games, a silent and a live auction, a live band, a washer pitching contest, pie throwing and many other activities. How can you help?
