Honors ProjectBenjamin TarhiBenjamin Tarhi will graduate this May with a bachelor’s degree in communication, media and technology and a minor in game studies. During his four years at La Roche, Mr. Tarhi has made dean’s list each semester and has maintained a high GPA. During his junior semester, he completed an internship at Meadville Area Free Clinic, where he worked with their Communications Department to develop and sustain their online presence. Outside La Roche Mr. Tarhi has continued his work in the communications field with the Pennsylvania Environmental Council on various projects, including the Western PA Environmental Awards Program and the Deep Decarbonization Conference in 2017.

The massive growth in the video game industry over the past decade has caused the formation and rapid increase of a separate industry — video game streaming. Video game streaming websites such as Twitch and YouTube are among the most visited websites globally. This study aims to analyze the methods and factors used to create and maintain a successful game streaming channel for independent content creators. The two major research methods used in this study are quantitative assessments of data from current game streamers and experimentation with various factors on my own Twitch video game streaming channel.
