NCERT updates The National Council of Education Re-search and Training (NCERT) has re-vised a chapter in its class XII politicalscience textbook to remove a portion on

the separatist politics in Jammu and Kashmir,and add the abrogation of Article 370, whichgave special status to the erstwhile state of J&Kby the Centre on August 5, 2019. The NCERThas revised the chapter inthe textbook, 'Politics inIndia Since Independence' for the academicsession 2020-21. While the topic, 'Separatismand Beyond' has been deleted from the chap-ter, the abrogation of Article 370 has beenincluded under the topic, 'Regional Aspira-tions'. The NCERT has also replaced the oldmap of Jammu and Kashmir in class XIIpolitical science textbook from this year.
