hEalth spEnDing plansThe ultimate in flexibility and cost control, the BENSPlus Spending Plan reimburses Employees for eligible health, dental and wellness expenses. You set the parameters around eligible expenses and yearly maximums, and BENSPlus administers the plan. It’s a great way to provide flexible benefits while meeting budgetary constraints.

Cost Control - It’s an effective way for you to contain benefit costs to a predetermined level that you can afford, because you decide how much will be given to each Employee, each year. This works as an effective tool for managing costs and minimizes the risk of benefit claim fluctua-tions.

critical illness coverageCritical illness (CI) insurance is a form of health insurance that pro-vides a lump-sum payment should the covered individual become seriously ill. Through the Exclusive Medical Plan the CI coverage has been included to cover $10,000/$10,000/$5,000 for Main/Spouse/Dependent respectively. CI covers account holders and spouses up to age 69, also dependents under age 21 (or age 25 if the dependent is a full time student).

catastrophic medical insurance coverageUnexpected illnesses or accidents can occur at any time, anywhere. BENSPlus’s Catastrophic Medical insurance has been designed to protect Employees and their families from specific Health and Dental expenses that would not normally be covered by provincial health plans, and that could potentially deplete the Employee’s Health Spending Plan.

accidental Death & Dismemberment coverage (aD&D)Should an Employee suffer a severe accident, the Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) benefit can provide the Employee with the necessary protection to ensure that the Employee and their fam-ily’s finances and future are secure. The available coverage is as follows: Elite Medical Plan $25,000/$25,000/$10,000 and Exclusive Medical Plan $50,000/$50,000/$10,000 for Main/Spouse/Depend-ent respectively. The AD&D coverage is for account holders and spouses under age 70, also dependents under age 21 (or age 25 if the dependent is a full time student).

With Out of Country/Province Emergency Travel Insurance, Employees will have peace of mind knowing that they have coverage if an unexpected illness or acci-dental injury occurs while away. Employees and eligible dependents are automatically covered under this plan if they’re an active eligible member of the policy and under the age of 80.
