• User interface is completely integrated with Raster Manager

• Supports any pixel type. Descartes can attach binary rasters, 8 bit rasters, 24 bit rasters, etc.

• Rasters can be displayed with rotation, affinity or in a rotated view

• Support for rasters with rectangular pixels

• Can attach rasters to the design plane. Background plane, (as in I/RAS B) is still supported, but, by attaching rasters in the design plane, rasters can be interleaved with vector elements

• Descartes fully supports 3D attachment

• Rasters attached to a reference model are supported

• Descartes is completely ProjectWise and Bentley Geospatial Server compliant

• Raster attachments are treated as MicroStation elements. Therefore, it is possible to:

– Select rasters using the MicroStation selection tool. Element type of rasters is “Raster Attachment”

– Edit (move, rotate, scale, etc) raster attachment and vector elements in the same operation using MicroStation tools

– “Element Info” dialog displays raster information for selected rasters

– Undo/redo support for raster editing tools using the MicroStation undo operation.

– Rasters can be detached using the MicroStation delete tool or the keyboard delete key
