CAMP BANKBOOKS NEW THIS YEAR! If your child will be attending a Christian based camp, they can earn money towards that camp by doing a Bankbook!

A few requirements: 1. Must be a Christian based camp. 2. Camp must be approved by Pastor Spencer. 3. Camps must be a “sleep there” type camp—

not day camps. (Family camps included). 4. This is solely for children 1st-5th grade whose

family considers Berean their home church. (See Bankbook for additional guidelines)

Bankbooks are available downstairs at the table near the couch. Start earning money towards camp by attending on Sundays and Wednesdays, doing projects, bringing friends, and more!

Completed Bankbooks are due by March 31st.

CONNECT GROUP QUESTIONS SUNDAY, MARCH 3, 2019

Why was it wrong (sin) for Adam to listen to his wife? Gen 3:17

The ground was cursed Gen 3:17-18. How did this impact Adam?

Remember Adam was a farmer (tended the garden).

Think of how you would be impacted if you had a God given job to do,

and everything related to it was working consistently against you.

What was the final outcome of Adam’s life after God disciplined him?

How has this changed over the last 5,000 years?

Two words are used in the instruction to wives in Ephesians 5:22-23.

What are they? What does submit mean? As you think of your response, factor that into the context of the specific instruction to wives we have in verse 5:21 “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.”

Ephesians 5:33 and 1 Peter 3:1-6 gives a fuller and clearer description of how God desires wives to relate to their husbands. How might this look in today’s world?

Sad, but true— the fact is that at least two realities influence how we generally understand and apply the Biblical instruction on how God wants to use wives to meet the legitimate need of their husbands. One is that men have used this teaching to abuse their wives in the name of God and the second is that men often fail to be worthy of respect. Think through the legitimacy of these two negative realities to release a wife from her God commanded responsibilities.

When in the Biblical record did Sarah call Abraham “master?” (Help —Genesis 18:12) What fear did she face and not surrender to as 1 Peter 3:6 communicates?

Think on and discuss the fears that women today face when they genuinely seek to obey the instruction in Ephesians 5 & 1 Peter 3. How can they live in obedience to God’s commands?

GREETINGS FROM THAILAND! Pastor Bill recently reminded us that Berean is celebrating their 40th anniversary this year… how fast the time has gone! (in seeing the slide tribute on February 17th, we had a hard time recognizing that young couple with the dark hair at the groundbreaking of our first building!) We feel humbled and honored to have served Berean for 35 years. The love and support of you as a congregation was unparalleled...we were truly blessed. We have many fond memories of our time serving Jesus and His Kingdom with you.

We continue to pray for Berean as you go through this transition time. We believe the best is yet to come, due to the Lord's grace and your faithfulness. We send our heartfelt "congratulations."

MARCH HAITI TEAM Pray for these individuals who are serving in Haiti through March 10th: Olivia Augustine, Wyatt Clemens, Emily Cole, Landon Cole, Russ Harvey, Susan Heuss, Brittany Kuhn, Brad Kuhn, Justin Leach, Mark Lynskey, Brandon Mowry, Clint Saiben, Alex Seher, Olivia Smith, Matt Spiegel, Sarah Storkel, Pastor Steve Storkel, Jace Wolford, and Miranda Young.

The team has asked us to pray for safety, peace, and fairness in Haiti, strength to get through the week, wisdom, health, opportunities to share Jesus’ love, and to build the Kingdom. They are also asking God to meet physical needs, open hearts to serve others, for God to raise up Christian leaders in Haiti, and to reveal the spiritual and emotional healing of Christ along with the physical healing of medicine.

Proverbs 21:19 “It is better to live in a desert land than with a quarrelsome and fretful woman.”

2 Thessalonians 3:10 “For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.”

Die—Appreciate his design and desire to protect and provide.

Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,”

1 Timothy 5:8 “But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”

Lead—Appreciate his design and desire to be strong and to lead.

1 Timothy 2:12 “I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.”

Proverbs 19:13b “and a wife's quarreling is a continual dripping of rain.”

Friend—Appreciate his design and desire for shoulder to shoulder friendship. Titus 2:4 “and so train the young women to love their husbands and children,”

Proverbs 21:9 “It is better to live in a corner of the housetop than in a house shared with a quarrelsome wife.”

Sex—Appreciate his design and desire for sexual intimacy.

Proverbs 5:18b & 19 “and rejoice in the wife of your youth, a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love.

1 Corinthians 7:4-5 “For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
