“Machu Picchu” means “Old Peak” or “Old Mountain.”Structures were built with a technique called “ashlar.” Stones are cut to fit together without mortar. Remarkably, not even a needle can fit in between two stones.Many of the stones that were used to build the city weighed more than 50 tons.

ColosseumThe Colosseum was built between 72 A.D and 80 A.DMade from stone and concrete, this magnificent monument was built with the man power of tens of thousands of slaves. This brilliant building had 80 entrances and could seat approximately 50,000 spectators who would come to watch sporting events and games.
