Since 1982 the ClintonvilleHomes Tour has been one ofour community’s great tradi-tions and an opportunity towelcome visitors to tour someof our greatest homes andenjoy our neighborhood. The2012 event takes place onSunday, September 9, from 1to 4 p.m.
The theme of this year’stour is The Historic andArchitectural Diversity ofClintonville. Homes featuredon the tour will highlight extensive renova-tions and additions, and a variety of styles.In addition, many of the homes will sharerich historical backstories of the propertyand the surrounding area.
“We are very excited about this year’stour as it marks the 30th anniversary of theevent,” said Kristina Ross, event co-chair.“In conjunction with Clintonville’s 165thanniversary and some other events going onthe same weekend, it’s going to be a greatweekend to highlight our community.”
Homes on the tour fall within or closeto the original historical boundaries forClintonville, which span several blocks fromWeber Road on the south end to TorrenceRoad on the north. Because the tour willnot be completely walkable, a trolley servicewill shuttle patrons between homes. Stopsalong the High Street corridor will alsoallow local merchants to be explored and
other parts of the community enjoyed.The Clintonville Homes Tour is run by
volunteers from the community under thedirection of the Clintonville CommunityFund. Through the generous support of toursponsors, all proceeds from the sale of tick-ets will go into the Clintonville CommunityFund. In turn, the CCF makes grants toClintonville organizations for a variety ofcharitable activities in the areas of arts andhumanities, conservation, education, health,social services, and urban affairs.
