At Clarkson University, we know that new technologies, emerging fields and expanding career opportunities require new approaches to learning. That’s why we’re one of the few higher educational institutions that require all students to have a professional experience prior to graduation.

What do we mean by professional experience? Develop medical diagnostics. Design an automobile. Work with patients. Consult and train with real companies. Create practical solutions to actual problems.

Participation in a co-op or internship isn’t a one-time opportunity. Many of our students begin networking with top companies during their first year on campus and have several co-op and internship experiences throughout their time at Clarkson.

It’s an approach that works. One in five alumni is a CEO, president, owner or senior executive of a company.
