WHAT ARE BEST PRACTICES?
• Interventions or services that are proven to work• “Proven to work” means that the consumer is demonstrating positive changes and achieving meaningful results• The most optimum route to Best Practices is through analyzing results and applying learning – being creative and innovative in responding to challenges and barriers
3 EASY STEPS FOR GETTING TO BEST PRACTICES
• Identify Challenges and Barriers
• Brainstorm Innovations and Solutions
• Implement Course Corrections and Track Impacts
STEP 1: Identify Challenges and Barriers
• What is your understanding of the project in terms of who the customers are, what your role is, and what level of service is to be provided?
• What are the current challenges – or discrepancies – between what should be and what is in regard to these same areas?
STEP 2: Brainstorm Innovations and Solutions
• What ideas do you have to bridge gaps between what is and what could be?
• Will these ideas make the program better in ways that will improve the positive impacts, or the number of people who will achieve results?
• If so, how?
STEP 3: Implement Course Corrections and Track Impacts
• Which of your ideas can you readily and reasonably implement?
• How will you know if the idea is working? • Do you have the data to support that the
program you are implementing is highly effective and efficient in getting consumers to results?
• Yes? You have just demonstrated Best Practice!
