Senior Infants. Week 8

18th – 22ndth May 2020.

Dear Parents,

This week the children are invited to upload 2 pieces of work to see saw each day.

Child Protection: We would ask that Seesaw be only used for the uploading of assigned work from

your teacher. Please do not upload any videos or photographs of your children to Seesaw. If you are

using videos for uploading reading, the reading book should only be seen in the video. Don’t forget

there is also an audio recording option to record children’s reading. Photographs should only be of

your child’s work and not the child herself/himself.

Best wishes

Mrs. Murphy.

My Journal

Continue to add to your journal. I am also including some worksheets as part of Well

being and it might be an idea put them into your journal. Remember try to start each

piece of writing by putting the day at the top (and if your child is able the date also.)

Next week we will be working on time and money.

- It would be useful to have an old clock on standby or make one, so that your

child can see the direction the hands move.

- As 1c and 2c coins are out of circulation, it would be handy to make at least

ten 1c and 2c coins out of cardboard and collect some 5c coins. Play money is

as good as any of you have that. We will only need or two 10c and 20c coins.

Children need to handle money to see that there are different ways to make

4c, 5c, 6c, etc. ( These can be kept in your maths bag/box).

-

Work that can be done at any stage.

Phonics – Skillsbook D – 26, 27, 31. 36

The journal – the ideas below are only guidelines. Please continue to do your own thing

regarding this journal if you wish.

Word Wizard – Pages 106 & 107 ( We will come back to pages 104 & 105 next week)

Handwriting - Don’t forget – you also need to finish your handwriting book. If this

handwriting book is more relevant to the level you child is at, at the moment, as

opposed to work recommended below, then by all means make this a priority. Do

whatever benefits your child most.

This

trains

your child

to think

positively.

Bedtime prayer:

Angel of God my guardian dear,

To whom God’s love commits me here,

Ever this day be at my side

To light and guard, to rule and guide Amen.

Say the Hail Mary every night along with the

prayer above.

This Week:

- Compose a little prayer to Mary – write it down and decorate the
