I trust that you enjoyed a restful Queen’s Birthday long weekend. Having two four day weeks has created a sense of busyness as we head towards the end of this Term. We have begun to find a new flow as we have all students back and as we bring with us the good that we have experienced through the challenges. Our usual School Tour for new families has been reformatted to an online tour and we are excited to present this to prospective families this term. We have continued with future enrolment interviews using online meetings and we are finding ways to connect that allow our central business to continue while being aware of staying healthy. South Australia has now begun to relax some of the restrictions to enable small groups of people to meet together and we look forward to welcoming parents back on to the school grounds in the future. I would also encourage you to think about how you will continue to support your child with the drop off and pick-ups once this changes. You may consider continuing with the current routine to help your child remain independent in organising themselves in the mornings. New routines and habits are an important part of life and I would encourage you to continue following through with those habits that are developing responsibility. The School Dental van will be here next week and will see students who have booked in for this service. If you have not done this and are still interested, please contact the office for more information. Last Friday our staff spent time learning and planning for a portion of our Literacy program including the use of the MultiLit programs that support the development of reading skills. We continue to ask ourselves how we can improve and grow and continue on our learning journeys as professionals in education. Our desire to see every student learn and grow causes us to keep improving and ask questions to ensure that we never just settle with what has always been done. The teaching profession continues to understand and explore more and more about student learning and how we enable this to keep improving. As the world changes, we want to stay relevant in preparing students with the capabilities they will need to be successful contributing citizens. Our desire to see children excel in Christian education and character is seen as I walk through our school, I am reminded of what wonderful children we have here at Bethany and, how blessed we are to have great teachers, wonderful facilities, and caring staff who go above and beyond to work together for your children. I pray that you will have a safe and restful weekend and that you will enjoy time together with your children. God bless, Wendy Matear

DEPUTY'S CORNER

It has certainly been a super frosty start to Winter! The students have thoroughly enjoyed the WinterWonderland that our Nature’s Playground has become. We are getting quite the collection of unnamed orobscurely named jumpers and jackets in our lost property. Could you please make some time this week to checkif your child’s jumper is clearly labelled so that if we find a lost item that we are able to return it to the correctowner? At times, children accidently pick up an item of clothing belonging to another child and take it home.Could you please check for this and return that item to the class teacher in order for it to be returned to thecorrect student?

Thank you to everyone who is observing the road rules and being courteous road users. There has been anoticeable improvement in the Kiss ‘n’ Drop and Turning Circle for the end of the day pick up. We have beennotified that the new SAPOL ‘District Police Model for Paralowie’ is now up and running. This new team will beliaising with Temple Christian College and Bethany Christian School and supporting us in the same manner asthe Neighbourhood Policing Team did. While the school has no legal jurisdiction on places beyond our schoolgates, you can make a report of unsafe driving behaviour by calling 131 444.

I wish you all a safe and healthy week!

God bless you,

Deb Clifford
