BLC.EDU/COMMUNICATION-MAJOR.
COMMUNICATIONBethany’s communication major engages students in the study of human communication. Our graduates develop skills for communicating effectively with diverse audiences through the variety of channels available today. Our graduates have insight into audience analysis, are familiar with technology, are able to problem solve, and demonstrate the ability to write and speak with precision and power. Elective courses drawn from across the entire curriculum give communication majors flexibility in crafting programs to fit their interests. Additionally, students consider the field from a Christian perspective, understanding what it means to be an ethical communicator.
CUTTING-EDGE BROADCASTINGwww.vimeo.com/blcstudios Our students produce live sportcasts for Charter Communication and Minnesota State University, Mankato using Bethany’s state-of-the-art high-definition production trailer. In addition, our students produce episodes of Between the Lines (a political talkshow), hockey pregame shows, and other assorted projects for real-world clientele.
BLC STUDIOS Bethany’s on-campus production studio, BLC Studios, houses our broadcasting programs and student production company. This provides students with valuable resources and professional experience that sets them apart in the job market. Our alumni have gained employment at prestigious organizations including:

“I learned how to manage all aspects of a show and work with a lot of different people: designers, cast and crew, and directors. I learned to hold an event together organizationally, and that group experience was instrumental in getting me the job I have now.”Tera Teed (’10) Executive Assistant at Streetlight Films USA in Los Angeles, California
