There's nothing worth more, That will ever come close
Nothing can compare, You're our living hope, Your presence
I've tasted and seen, Of the sweetest of love
Where my heart becomes free, And my shame is undone Your presence, Lord
Holy Spirit, You are welcome here, Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your glory, God, is what our hearts long for, To be overcome by Your presence, Lord
Your presence, Lord

When I'm in Your presence, You show me the glory of you,
Spirit fall, Spirit fall
Fall on us for we are Yours, Fall on us for we are Yours
You will make, all things new, Until You return all creation, Cries out for You
Spirit fall, Spirit fall
Fall on us for we are Yours, Fall on us for we are Yours
There is power in Your presence, Hope and healing in Your presence
There is freedom in Your presence

Prayer of Illumination Connie Segeleon
First Reading: Acts 2:1-11 Sharon Salvini 1When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. 2And
suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled
the entire house where they were sitting. 3Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among
them, and a tongue rested on each of them. 4All of them were filled with the Holy
Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability. 5Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven living in
Jerusalem. 6And at this sound the crowd gathered and was bewildered, because each
one heard them speaking in the native language of each. 7Amazed and astonished, they
asked, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? 8And how is it that we hear,
each of us, in our own native language? 9Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and residents of
Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10Phrygia and Pamphylia,
Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews
and proselytes 11Cretans and Arabs — in our own languages we hear them speaking
about God’s deeds of power.”
Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 12:3b-13 3bNo one can say “Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit. 4Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5and there are varieties of
services, but the same Lord;6and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God
who activates all of them in everyone. 7To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit
for the common good. 8To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and
to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9to another faith by
the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10to another the working
of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another
various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11All these are
activated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the
Spirit chooses. 12For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body,
though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13For in the one Spirit we were all
baptized into one body — Jews or Greeks, slaves or free — and we were all made to
drink of one Spirit.

WE RESPOND TO GOD’S WORD
Pastoral Prayer and Lord’s Prayer Pastor Bill
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy
will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and
forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
forever. Amen.
Hymn No. 492 “Spirit of the Living God” CCLI # 23488 / CCLI License # 1761225
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me;
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God, move among us all;
Make us one in heart and mind, make us one in love:
Humble, caring, selfless, sharing.
Sprit of the living God, fill our lives with love.

Sunday School Confirmation Teachers Sue Nagy and Joan Kundra will lead a ceremony for Carson DeRoss, Rachel Dunlap, Tyler Nicholson and Landon Smith to profess their faith publicly. This is a special service that we have every year that you don’t want to miss!
COVID-19 Update: Creating a New Task Force During the May meeting, the session has been decided to establish a dedicated task force to handle the planning and implementation of reopening the church. This task force will be represented by a member from each of the ministry teams and chaired by a member of the property team. Clerk of Session Beckie Price and Rev. Youmans will also be working with the team. All questions, plans and needs will be addressed over the next few weeks, and the task force will present their recommendations at the June 2020 meeting. We will extend our current closure policies until the session takes action. Once a plan has been approved, we will work diligently to begin implementation so that we can reopen our doors in the safest way possible. We will, of course, update you along the way with any changes or new developments. Please visit www.bethanypresby.org/covid-19 for more updates.

• Sidewalk Messages of Good News Activity for May 31 Following the Pentecost service, let’s continue to spread the messages of good news, hope, joy, peace, and love to the community using the sidewalks outside your home and throughout your neighborhood. Share with your neighbors the good news that they are loved, that there is hope, and that we are all in this together. Make your designs as simple or ornate as you like, with messages like, “peace be with you” and “you are so loved” for everyone! Share the process with us on social media by tagging us in your post and using the hashtag #BethanyGoodNews.

At this time, we are planning to continue on meeting virtually and I will let you know if there are changes to that schedule.
• Graduation Sunday - June 7 Let’s celebrate the Class of 2020! It may not be the ending they envisioned, but we could not be prouder of all their accomplishments. • Summer Events Currently, we will not be scheduling any in-person events for BYG this summer. We encourage you to spend time with your families and participate in any virtual gatherings.
• J-Gen 2020 Youth Conference is free and coming to your living room! We invite you to tune in with your youth group, invite your friends, and come as you are! • Calling all volunteers! We are seeking Sunday School teachers who are interested in sharing a children's message during Sunday service. We ask that volunteers prepare a 3-5 minute biblical message with a prayer at the end and use a children’s worship sheet to help guide the children into worship. For more information and to volunteer, please contact Pastor Jae [email protected].

Update from the PNC: The PNC continues to move forward in the work of calling a new Senior Pastor for Bethany. Last week we submitted our completed Ministry Information Form (MIF) to the Session for review and approval. For those that do not know, the MIF is essentially a job description with specific details about who Bethany is and what we believe. I am happy to report that the MIF was approved by Session at a virtual meeting held on May 18. Subsequently, the Pittsburgh Presbytery's Commission on Ministry has approved the document as well. Our next step is to post the MIF on Church Leadership Connection -- the Indeed or CareerBuilder for pastors -- which will happen this week. This is an important milestone in calling our next Senior Pastor. On behalf of the PNC, I'd like to thank our Session for their responsiveness in approving the MIF and the congregation for praying for our team and our future Senior Pastor. I urge everyone to continue to pray for our team, our church leaders, and that God continues to provide for Bethany in His many ways.
