BETHEL WEEKLY NEWS BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH
ONE CONGREGATION—TWO LOCATIONS
JUNE 19, 2016
WELCOME TO WORSHIP AT
BETHEL! Bethel believes that God is at
work in our life together to
transform and renew the
world by making followers of
Jesus. You are welcome to
be a part of this community of
those who celebrate the
forgiveness and hope that
are God’s gifts to imperfect
people through Jesus Christ,
to grow in your faith, and to
join in serving human need in
his name. The people and
pastors of Bethel look forward
to sharing your life-journey in
any way that is helpful to you.
If you are a visitor to this
beautiful area, we hope your
visit was refreshing and your
travels are safe.
DR. AARON DOERING COMES THIS WEEK! Bethel U welcomes explorer, Arctic adventurer, and U of M professor, Dr. Aaron Doering, to Bethel THIS Wednesday, June 22, at 7pm at Highlands Campus. Aaron Doering will share his travels, especially in the Arctic, and will tell how the native people are dealing with their changing environment, and his plans to take these adventures into the classroom.
Cost is $5 per ticket (17 & under are free & encouraged) and tickets can be purchased online at bethelhudson.org or at the Welcome Center. A portion of ticket sales will go to Senior League Youth.
CALL COMMITTEE UPDATE The Call Committee for the Pastor of Youth and Families has begun meet-ing and reviewing potential candidates’ profiles. The committee members are Alan Burchill, Bobbe Henderson, Marty Haefner, Cindy Smith, Ian Isakson, Melissa Davidson, Thomas Newell, Becca Benoy, Tim Beyer (Church Council Representative) and Pastor John Lestock. Please open your prayers to include this committee, the process and the potential candidates. CONNECT GROW SERVE Over the coming weeks, you’ll see some changes to Bethel’s branding. As these changes are getting ready to launch, you’re invited to be a part of Bethel's rebranding by purchasing a t-shirt or sweatshirt. The timing is perfect as the shirt sale is a fundraiser for the Senior League youth going on the Cincinnati Urban Immersion Trip next month. This flash sale is only for one week, so don’t miss your chance to 1) help the students raise funds for their life-changing experience and 2) be a part of Bethel’s rebranding. Watch for more information in the coming weeks and in the meantime, get your Be-thel gear today!
CHILDREN ARE WELCOMED
AT BETHEL!
Parents will find bags of
soft toys for children at the
entrance to the worship
areas. Thank you for
doing what you can to
help in creating a worship
environment where all can
participate by keeping
distracting noise and
movement to a minimum.
If you prefer, a nursery is
available Sunday
mornings at 9:30am at the
Highlands campus.
