Thank you for the cards, the visits, the gifts, the flowers and the many messages of encouragement and love. Do I miss Henderson? Of course! God bless you all! Cleola Franz
Dr. Sam and Sherri… read the thank you letter and the story of Roxanne on the east bulletin board. You will not want to miss it! Thank you so much for your congregation’s most recent gift of $3,601.83 to Mennonite Church USA, including $540.28 to the Executive Board. These funds help support the Executive Board’s staff in carrying out the seven priorities of the Purposeful Plan. We are grateful for this expression of your commitment to working together. We recognize that congregations have a variety of patterns regarding their spending plans. Are you already familiar with the resources on our website for assisting congregations in making
decisions about budgeting and church-wide giving? A couple that may be of interest include:
http://mennoniteusa.org/resource/treasurers-handbook/
(for treasurers and finance committees)
http://mennoniteusa.org/resource/giving-guide/ (for congregational and conference leaders)
The materials in these documents are updated at the end of each fiscal year, and your suggestions are most welcome. In addition, a number of other resources are available in a dozen categories at http://mennoniteusa.org/resources/. Perhaps you are already familiar with “Begin Anew,” the discipleship curriculum available for purchase or download from our website: http://mennoniteusa.org/resource.begin-anew/. Terry Shue is working with Palmer Becker and Michael Hostetler on a video for the congregational resource package. The video will feature 16 short teaching segments that will complement the leaders guide. May you find the goodness of God active wherever you look - in the splendor of creation and the beauty of human life.

YOUTH Junior High Parents Summer Blog We will be continuing the blog throughout the summer with devotions connected to the themes from the DEVOzine devotionals your youth will receive during Sunday school this summer. Here is an opportunity to help your children develop a habit of reading devotions and to engage in faith conversations. Parents are the #1 source of faith development and we want to make it a little easier for you to help shape them. Visit the blog each Monday for a new post! If you would like to receive text alerts about the new blog posts, contact Cindy Friesen in the church office at 402-723-4562 or email her at [email protected]. Fusion is a monthly community summer youth group for high school youth in the Henderson area. The youth groups of Faith Evangelical Bible Church, Henderson MB and Bethesda Mennonite Church will merge together for the summer at area locations for worship, food and fun activities. The focus will be on our common bond in Christ and how together we are “being built to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit” (Ephesians 2:20-22). These events are sponsored by Henderson Ministerial Association churches. Bethesda will host the next Fusion gathering July 31, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. at Phil and Melissa Goertzen’s home. We will have food, water balloon games, worship, small groups and more.
