RF Modulator

Background

As new technologies use more and more of the radio spectrum there is an increasing need for equipment to operate within narrower ranges, handling more signals and not causing issues in adjacent frequencies. RED sets out the principles for efficient use of the spectrum and under it are a number of Harmonised Standards that help simplify compliance for manufacturers. RED came into full effect in 2017.

What will change?

Labgear will be the first to deliver a fully compliant range of amplifiers to the market. These new amps will have:

• Improved gain flatness delivering a better balance across the performance range

• Lower noise and therefore improved signal quality

• Greater signal handling capacity to cope with the more crowded spectrum

• Defined standards of filtering to give improved protection from things like 4G interference.

Example

Our LMA mastheads and LDA indoor distribution amps will have a typical 45dB protection from 4G interference built-in as standard. Look for the label.

Coax Cabled Systems to the MAX!

Labgear’s comprehensive range of 4G LTE800 filters cut out potential interference from 4G mobile phone masts in the 800MHz range. They are engineered with a sharp cross-over from the pass band to the stop band and have very high rejection across the full 4G LTE800 frequency range. These filters have been subject to strict independent tests and the range includes the ‘at 800 approved’ F4GA filter, which was used as part of the official programme.
