The solutions we deliver… now and tomorrow.

Each year since 1911, International Women’s Day is commemorated on March 8 as an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women while continuing to call for greater equality. A theme this year is Make it Happen, encouraging effective action for advancing and recognizing women.

Thousands of events will occur to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women. Organizations,

governments, charities, educational institutions, women’s groups, corporations and the media will celebrate the day – and Veolia is among them.

Veolia is commemorating International Women’s Day this year with a special luncheon in Paris led by our Chairman and CEO, Antoine Frérot, to acknowledge the important role of women in Veolia. Attending the event are Veolia women from around the world who are delivering on our promise of Resourcing the world and making big contributions to Veolia’s success, including Lanita McCauley Bates and Erika Kovacs from North America. Learn about them on the following pages.

In North America, Veolia’s commitment to women is evidenced by both our

everyday activities to support women’s career growth through training and coaching, and by our Women in Leadership program.

The VNA Women in Leadership program’s goal is to accelerate career development of high-potential women leaders by increasing their personal effectiveness, business acumen and corporate visibility. A kick-off event was held in Chicago in December for the 27 women who are part of this year’s program. Terry Mah, Bill DiCroce and Steve Hopper spoke at the event on the importance of developing good leaders and continuing to increase leadership diversity in our organization.

Congratulations to Erika and Lanita, the Women in Leadership program participants and all the Veolia women who are Making it Happen every day!
