PET CARE Last Friday K/1/2 and Kinder transition students participated in the ‘Responsible Pet Education Program’. They learnt how to respond if they encounter an angry dog, followed by the advisable procedure to meet a dog who is with their owner. Many children were keen to pat ‘Munro’. Children also learnt about the responsibilities of caring for a dog. ‘GIRLS NIGHT IN’ WOMEN’S CANCER AWARENESS FUNDRAISER Once again the ‘Girl’s Night In’ was a most successful and fun evening despite the looming thunderstorms. Thank you to all people who contributed to this event. Through either raffle tickets or donations we raised $415.30. This was a great effort and the money will be forwarded to the Cancer Council. Congratulations girls on a great night!!

Procedures by 2/3P

This term 2/3P have been learning how to a write a procedure. A procedure tells us how to do something. To write a procedure, you need to tell us these things: TITLE: What is your procedure called? GOAL: What is this procedure teaching us how to do? EQUIPMENT or INGREDIENTS: What do you need for this procedure? METHOD: What are the steps? 2/3P have written a lot of procedures this term, and here are just a few of our favourites:

TITLE: Making Milkshakes GOAL: To make a tasty milkshake! EQUIPMENT: A cup A spoon 1 cup of milk Flavouring (we used Nesquik)

METHOD: 1. Fill the cup up with milk. 2. Add one spoon full of flavouring. 3. Stir well. 4. Drink and enjoy!

TITLE: How To Make Fairy Bread GOAL: To make some delicious fairy bread! EQUIPMENT: A plate A knife A spoon Butter Bread Sprinkles

METHOD: 1. Using the knife, butter one side of the bread. 2. Use the spoon to pick up the sprinkles and

sprinkle them onto the bread. Make sure you cover it all!

3. Cut the bread into quarters. 4. Eat and enjoy!

TITLE: How To Brush Your Teeth GOAL: To learn how to brush your teeth and keep them nice and clean. EQUPIMENT: Toothbrush Toothpaste Water METHOD: 1. Wet your toothbrush and squeeze a small amount of toothpaste onto the bristles. 2. Place the toothbrush into your mouth and scrub your teeth by moving the brush up and down and

backwards and forwards. 3. Brush your tongue. 4. After you have been brushing for two minutes, spit the toothpaste into the sink and rinse out

your mouth with water. 5. Dry your mouth and admire your sparkling teeth in the mirror!

Remembrance Day Ceremony

Bexhill Public School would like to thank Mr McDonough and Mr Wright for attending our Remembrance Day Assembly. The students should be very proud of the way in which they conducted the Assembly in order to remember those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS

TRADITIONAL MASSAGE - Open every day at 4pm. Call Megawati on 66284309 for the best massage ever. Unbelievable but true!!!. Mega is also collecting children’s books to send to Sumatra. FOR SALE – Spiny leaf insects only $7.00 each Lots of people have cats and birds but not many have a spiny leaf insect . They are really easy to look after! To take care of your spiny leaf insect, give them fresh eucalyptus leaves every 2-3 days, which you can leave in a vase of water in their tank or cage. It is best for the insects to have a vertical (rather than horizontal) cage to live in. Put some river sand in a container and they will lay the eggs gently on top. Then you spray them with water every 2-3 days. Females will live 18 months, males 15 months. Females can lay thousands of eggs in their lifetime. Please contact the school office if interested.
