PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINING & BEHAVIOR SOLUTIONS
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Beyond the Dog, LLC is a full service professional dog training
company that provides behavior therapy and obedience training
to those in the entire Kansas City metro area and beyond.
It was founded by Sean and Kristyn Savage,
individuals who are highly skilled and hold
prestigious and unique credentials in the
field of dog behavior. They are the only
trainers in Kansas City with credentials that
include a doctoral degree in behavioral
psychology with a focus on applied animal
behavior and certification as a dog behavior
consultant.
The professional trainers are also
certified through the Association of Pet
Dog Trainers, the largest dog training
organization in the world. You can be
assured that you have access to some of the
most up to date advice, obedience training
tips, and “how to’s” when it comes to dog or
puppy training. Not only do the professional
trainers have extensive experience in
dog behavior and obedience training, they are
uniquely informed in some of the most effective
methods to teach owners. Therefore, the advice,
tips, and “how to’s” are put into effective action!
Beyond the Dog provides behavior therapy
and obedience training for a variety of problem
behaviors ranging from severe aggression to
simple housebreaking and everything in between.
Much of the training, whether it be for puppies or
adult dogs, is conducted privately in your home
where the problem behavior occurs. Sean and
Kristyn specialize in treating aggressive, anxious,
and fearful behavior with many of the dogs they
train. Other behaviors they treat include manners,
housebreaking, and obedience. If your dog is
exhibiting problem behavior, small or large, and
you view them BEYOND just “the dog” contact
Beyond the Dog today!
In their practice they focus on building healthy, fullfilling relationships with
their clients. Their training philosophy is both dog and owner centered. The
training techniques they use are based in science and proven to be effective.
Dr. Echterling-Savage has presented at professional seminars throughout the
country to disseminate some of these techniques to help train trainers.

Sean and Kristyn view your pet as more than just “the dog.” Rather, they see
them as a life companion. They hope for this to be a special journey that you
will take through life together.
Sean and Kristyn look beyond your dog and focus on their behavior. They
avoid constructs like “bad” or “stubborn.” Instead, they examine the factors that
control their behavior. By understanding these factors, they can effectively and
compassionately train and alter their behavior.
Not only do Sean and Kristyn train your dog, they train you. By doing this, they
can ensure that you have the tools to maintain your dog’s behavior over time.
Their goal is long term maintenance of behavior change that you control with or
without their support or presence.
