DESCRIPTION

This 7-day workshop with Emil is designed to introduce the practitioner, in the delightful mountain environment of Bali, to both a stimulating postural practice, and the magic that lies beyond the physical aspect of Yoga.

TRANSCRIPT

Emil E. Wendel has been living in Asia since the mid-sev-enties, studying Indian thought as well as Chinese classi-cal philosophy. His many years of residency in Nepal and India have brought about a passion for yoga, in particular the aspects of breath and meditation techniques in both the yogic and Buddhist traditions. His courses offer a glimpse into the treasures of philosophy, and their application in daily life. He is presently instructing in teacher training programs for Yoga Arts of Australia, ShaktiSpirit of Bali, Heather Elton of London, Yoga Jaya of Tokyo and Brahmani Yoga

of India. When not teaching, or researching and practicing in Nepal or India, Emil is conducting his own workshops and retreats throughout Europe as well as in Bali, Sin-gapore, Thailand, Australia, Japan and the USA.

This 7-day workshop with Emil is designed to introduce the practitioner, in the delight-ful mountain environment of Bali, to both a stimulating postural practice, and the magic that lies beyond the physical aspect of Yoga. The retreat hotel, Ananda Cottages, Ubud, (s. www.anandaubud.com) has two yoga stu-dios that overlook rice fields and distant blue mountains - a truly beautiful environ-ment to be. Bali is the Island of Gods – there are temples and ceremonies everywhere, everyday. In this retreat, Asana, Pranayama and guided meditation are combined with seminars in yoga philosophy and background information on the techniques involved. The course offers deeper insight into Mudras and Mantras, meditation techniques of Tantra, and forms of Nada Yoga, and also includes paying respect to the spiritual envi-ronment with a yogic ceremony at night in one of the temples and shrines near Ubud. This is a full workshop, with depth and joyfulness. All levels are welcome - but for those who have never practiced Asanas or Pranayama, a good degree of physical fit-ness is recommended.

Beyond The AsanaIntensive Yoga Workshop in Bali

With Emil E. Wendel

22 June - 29 June 2013

The regular afternoon sessions start with discussing those elements of Indian philoso-phy which are fundamental to the understanding of yoga. Also, the specific workshop of the day is introduced: here, we open to the magic of deeper flows.

This flow culminates in a visit to one of the extraordinary temples or shrines for which Ubud is famous – for our own yogic ritual and night meditation.
