    Blue Grass Stockyards to Rebuild

Lexington, KY - After a difficult and emotional three weeks since the fire that destroyed

the Lexington property, owners of the Blue Grass Stockyards are ready to announce plans

to move forward. This week owners have applied to place Blue Grass Stockyards on apre-owned piece of property in the Northwest quadrant of the intersection of I-75 and

Ironworks Pike in far Northern Fayette County.

This decision is important to our customers, but also to the entire agricultural communityof Central Kentucky. Considerable effort was put into weighing all of the options and

listening to customer input. This location is ideal as it offers easy access for the existing

customer base and provides opportunity to become a regional market center.

I commend Mayor Gray and his staff, Governor Bevin and Commissioner of Agriculture

Quarles for their work to make this a viable alternative for us, stated Blue Grass

Stockyards COO, Jim Akers. Blue Grass Stockyards has a 70 year history in thiscommunity and it is an important part of our heritage.

Blue Grass Stockyards owners look forward to showing the community new plans thathighlight environmental stewardship as well as a design plan that will be a natural fit for

the community and neighboring Kentucky Horse Park. Owners anticipate sharing

development plans for the protection of the Royal Springs Aquifer and Cane Run

Watershed and will use their experience as a neighbor to Town Branch as proof of whatcan be accomplished. We have already reached out to Mayor Tom Prather of

Georgetown to create a dialog to address any concerns that may arise and he has been

open and receptive to the facts, stated Akers.

Blue Grass Stockyards will continue to be a vibrant and vital part of not only the

agricultural community but the business community in Fayette County. We are excitedabout the prospect of relocating this important and historic business to a location that

better serves our customers and provides farmers with the opportunity for expanded

access to innovative markets for their agricultural products.

Blue Grass Livestock Marketing Group owns seven sale facilities and looks to provide everyopportunity for customers to be profitable in the livestock production industry by providing

progressive, innovative programs and services that create access to the broadest array ofmarketing opportunities.
