Intended use

This vacuum cleaner is intended for domestic use and not for com-mercial use. Only use this vacuum cleaner in accordance with theinstructions in this instruction manual. The manufacturer will notaccept any responsibility for damage caused by improper use or incor-rect operation.

Therefore, please note the following points.

The vacuum cleaner must only be operated with:Original replacement parts, accessories or special accessories

Safety information

This vacuum cleaner complies with the recognised rules of techno-logy and the relevant safety regulations.

The appliance may be used by children over the age of 8 years andby persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacity or bypersons with a lack of experience or knowledge if they aresupervised or have been instructed on the safe use of theappliance and the have understood the potential dangers of usingthe appliance. Children must never play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must never be carried out bychildren without supervision. Plastic bags and films must be kept out of the reach of childrenbefore disposal. => Risk of suffocation.

Proper use

Only connect and use the vacuum cleaner in accordance withthe specifications on the rating plate. Never vacuum without the dust bag or dust container, motorprotection or exhaust filter. => This may damage the vacuum cleaner. Always keep the vacuum cleaner away from your head whenusing nozzles and tubes.=> This could cause injury! When vacuuming stairs, the appliance must always be positio-ned below the user.Do not use the power cord or the hose to carry or transport thevacuum cleaner. For safety reasons, if this appliance's mains power cable beco-mes damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, theirafter-sales service department or a similarlyqualified person.

If using the appliance for longer than 30 minutes, pull out thepower cord completely.When disconnecting the appliance from the mains, pull on theplug itself to remove it; do not pull on the power cord.Do not pull the power cord over sharp edges or allow it to be-come trapped. When the cable is being automatically rewound, ensure that themains plug is not thrown towards persons, body parts, animalsor objects. => Use the mains plug to guide the power cord.Pull out the mains plug before carrying out any work on thevacuum cleaner.Do not operate the vacuum cleaner if it is damaged. Unplug theappliance from the mains if a fault is detected.For safety reasons, only authorised after-sales service personnelare permitted to carry out repairs and fit replacement parts tothe vacuum cleaner.Protect the vacuum cleaner from the weather, moisture andsources of heat. Do not pour flammable substances or substances containingalcohol onto the filters (dust bag, motor protection filter,exhaust filter, etc.).The vacuum cleaner is not suitable for use on construction sites. => Vacuuming up building rubble could damage the appliance. When not in use, switch off the appliance and pull out the mainsplug.At the end of its life, the appliance should immediately be ren-dered unusable, then disposed of in an appropriate manner.

! Please note

The mains socket must be protected by at least a 16 amp cir-cuit breaker.If a circuit breaker is tripped when you switch on the vacuumcleaner, this may be because other electrical appliances whichhave a high current draw are connected to the same power cir-cuit. To prevent the circuit breaker from tripping, select the lowestpower setting before switching the appliance on, and increasethe power only once it is running.

If you are vacuuming up large par-ticles, make sure that you vacuumthem up successively and careful-ly to ensure that the vacuum chan-nel of the floor nozzle does notbecome blocked.If necessary, you should raise thenozzle in order to better vacuumup the dirt particles.

!CautionFloor nozzles are subject to acertain amount of wear, depen-ding on the type of hard floorsyou have (e.g. rough, rustictiles). You must there-fore checkthe underside of the floor nozzleat regular intervals. Worn under-sides of floor nozzles may havesharp edges that can damagesensitive hard floors, such asparquet or li-noleum. The manu-facturer does not accept any res-ponsibility for damage caused byworn floor nozzles.

Emptying the dust container

Figure In order to achieve the best possi-ble vacuuming results, the dustcontainer should be emptied afterevery use or, at the latest, whendust in the dust container has rea-ched the marking at any point.

!CautionThe dust container can only beremoved when the appliance is ina horizontal position. Therefore,place the appliance on the floorto unlock the release button.

•Remove the filter cartridge withfoam filter using the tab.

•Remove the foam filter from thefilter cartridge and tap out bothparts.• If they are very dirty, the foam fil-ter and filter cartridge should becleaned under running water.Alternatively, the unit can be cle-aned in the washing machine atmax. 30 °C using a gentle pro-gramme and the lowest spinspeed.TIP To protect other laundry

items, put the filter unit intoa laundry bag.

•Allow the foam filter and filtercartridge to dry completely (atleast 24 hours) and then reinsertthe foam filter into the filter car-tridge.

• Insert the filter cartridge withfoam filter back into the applian-ce. Close the lid of the foam fil-ter.

!CautionThe lid will only close if a filterhas been inserted.

In the event of a fault

•Unlock the cover by turning itanti-clockwise, and remove itfrom the appliance.=> Remove the blockage from

the collecting unit.

•Put the cover back on and lock itin place by turning it clockwise.=>Close the appliance lid.

If the Sensor Control indicatorcontinues to flash red, checkwhether the nozzle, suction pipeor flexible hose are blocked. Thiscan also trigger the SensorControl indicator.

Exhaust filter care

Depending on the model, yourappliance is equipped with eithera HEPA filter Fig. or a microfilter Fig. . Depending on the model, yourappliance has additional soundinsulation behind the HEPA ormicro filter. This does not have tobe cleaned.

HEPA filterYou can determine with whichHEPA filter your appliance isequipped by looking at the imprinton the filter frame next to thereference number:• "washable" – the filter can be

washed.• No additional imprint – the filter

must be replaced.

Cleaning a washable HEPA filterThe HEPA filter with the "washable"imprint is designed so that it doesnot need to be replaced, providedthe appliance is used as intended inthe household.To ensure that the vacuum cleaneris working at its optimum powerlevel, the exhaust filter should berinsed out after one year. Thefiltering action of the filter remainsintact, even if the filter surfacebecomes discoloured.

Micro filter

Cleaning the micro filterThe micro filter is designed sothat it does not need to bereplaced, provided the applianceis used as intended in thehousehold.To ensure that the vacuum cleaneris working at its optimum powerlevel, the exhaust filter should berinsed out after one year. Thefiltering action of the filterremains intact, even if the filtersurface becomes discoloured.

•Pull the locking tab to unlock thefilter unit with foam filter andmicrofilter and remove it fromthe appliance.

•Remove the foam filter andmicrofilter from the filter frame.

This vacuum cleaner is a general purpose vacuum cleaner.To achieve the declared energy efficiency and cleaning perfor-mance class on carpet and hard floor, please use the interchan-geable universal nozzle. The values provided on the energy label have been determinedaccording to the prescribed measuring process (in accordancewith EN60312-1).

Always switch off the vacuum cleaner and disconnect the powercord from the mains before cleaning the vacuum cleaner. Thevacuum cleaner and plastic accessories can be cleaned with anordinary plastic cleaner.

Disposal

Disposal information

PackagingThe packaging is designed to protect the vacuum cleaner from beingdamaged during transportation. It is made of environmentally friendlymaterials and can therefore be recycled.Dispose of packaging that is no longer required at an appropriaterecycling point.

Old appliancesOld appliances still contain many valuable materials. Therefore, pleasetake appliances that have reached the end of their service to yourretailer or recycling centre so that they can be recycled.For current disposal methods, please enquire at a retailer or your localcouncil.
