    1965: Community establishes the COED committee and raises over $1M in2 months to establish a regional branch campus of BGSU serving Erie, Huron,and Ottawa Counties

    1966: BGSU purchases 216.5 acres and names Firelands Campus of BowlingGreen State University

    1968: 576 students attend classes on campus in the newly opened East (nowFoundation Hall) and West Buildings

    1972: North Building opens to support community demands for technical education

    and student demands for social/recreational spaces

    2003: Cedar Point Center opens

    2009: Clasen Welcome Center opens, providing expanded space for enrollmentservices and BGSU Bookstore

    2011: New BGSU Firelands campus master plan presented to community

    Satellite courses and facilities at Norwalk HS, FRMC School of Nursing, andSandusky HS (fall 2011)

    314 student computers , newly renovated MAC classroom, state-of-the-art distancelearning facilities

    47-acre James H. McBride Arboretum

    250-seat McBride Auditorium featuring Caryl Crane Childrens Theatre

    Partners include Firelands Regional Medical Center, Lorain County CommunityCollege, Erie County Economic Development Corporation, Erie Metroparks
