    BSNL WLL

    WLL and GSM (mobile services Providers) canprovide full mobility telecom services, but WLLis used for limited services.

    It is configured as an augmentation of LandlineTelephony through Regulatory procedures.

    WLL is sometime also called Radio In TheLoop.

    WLL is a derivative of Cellular Mobile System

    WLL can be implemented by adopting most ofthe cellular systems, e.g. Macro CellularSystem like GSM, CDMA, DECT and PHS.

    In India CDMA and Cor-DECT are being usedfor WLL applications.

    BSNL ISDN provides an integration of Audio, Video andData.

    With ISDN there are two connections:

    Basic Rate Access (BRA):

    - 128 Kbps line, i.e. with two 64 Kbps line Primary Rate Access (PRA): - 2 Mbps link

    IN provides a framework to create variousservices in a centralized place independent ofthe switch.

    BSNL MOBILECurrently the widely used version of GSM is2G (2nd Generation) with its value addition

    through 2.5G and 2.75G Mobile system.

    2.75G Mobile is known as EDGE (EnhancedData Rate for GSM Evolution)

    3G Mobile has been recently launched byBSNL.

    CDMA means Code Division Multiple Access

    Users occupy the same time and frequencyallocation.

    Each member cell of the clusture getsunique set of RFs.

    A leased line is a symmetric telecommunicationline connecting two locations.

    Leased line can be used for Telephone, Data orInternet services.

    Unlike traditional PSTN lines it does not have a

    telephone number.

    Leased line is a must for large organizations inmost situations.

    Optical fibre is a new medium inwhich information is transmittedthrough a glass or plastic fibre in

    the form of light.The sequence of transmission is:

    Information is encoded intoelectrical signal.

    Electrical signals areconverted into light signals.

    Light travels down the fibre.

    A detector changes the lightsignals into electical signals.

    PULSE CODE MODULATION(PCM)

    PCM is a Digital scheme for transmitting analogdata.

    PCM is used to transmit information over longdistances with hardly any distortion.

    Using PCM it is possible to digitize all form of

    analog data, including full-motion video, voices,music etc.

    The output of a PCM is a series of binary numberseach represented by a power of 2-bits.
