New Delhi, April 5, 2010: Del Monte, one of the most favored brands all across the world, today introduced to the Indian consumers two new mouth-watering sauce variants, ZINGO and TWANGO. The sauces offer never-before tastes that are certain to take the land of the chutney by storm. The launch of Del Monte's new sauces comes after decades of any major product innovation in this category. 

Del Monte ZINGO offers a sweet and spicy surprise capturing the essence of far eastern cuisine and is a blend of Red chilies, Red Bell Pepper, Garlic and Ginger creating an alluring Asian taste. With only 29 kcal per serving (20g) and high in dietary fibre Zingo is a delicious and spicy treat.

Del Monte TWANGO is a tangy and fruity sauce that brings an unusual twist to regular tomato based sauces. It offers a never-before combination of juicy and tangy pineapple with sun kissed ripe tomatoes. With only 30 kcal per serving (20g) and a source of dietary fibre, TWANGO is a delectable extravagance - a must try for all.

FieldFresh Foods Pvt Ltd launches the legendary food and beverage brand in Kolkata; Bhubaneshwar and Guwahati to follow

Kolkata, 23rd February, 2010: FieldFresh Foods Pvt Ltd, a JV between Bharti Enterprises and Del Monte Pacific Limited, today marked its entry into eastern zone by launching the Del Monte range of food and beverages in Kolkata followed by Bhubaneshwar and Guwahati. Consumers in these cities can now choose from a range of Del Monte delectables including fruit drinks, packaged fruits, ketchup and sauces and a range of Italian products.

On the occasion, Mr. Sanjay Nandrajog, CEO, FieldFresh Foods Pvt Ltd, said, "We are very happy to launch the Del Monte range of products here today. This endeavor is yet another step taken towards consolidating our national footprint. As India develops into a modern economy, consumer tastes and preferences are fast evolving and the packaged foods and beverages segment is witnessing tremendous growth in the country. Ludhiana, January 19, 2010: FieldFresh Foods Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture of Bharti Enterprises and Del Monte Pacific Ltd., today said that it dispatched over 500 Tons of Fresh Baby Corn from its Agri Centre of Excellence in Ladhowal, Ludhiana. Exports to the United Kingdom constitute a major portion of these dispatches. This represents a 150% increase over last year when the company had exported over 200 tons of fresh baby corn. Going forward, the company is confident that it will achieve the 1000 Tons mark next year from Punjab.

On the occasion, The Company CEO, Mr. Sanjay Nandrajog said "This is a major achievement from the team at Agri Center of Excellence who along with our partner farmers have been continuously striving towards ensuring that fresh baby corn from Punjab reaches far & wide, not only in the country but across the world. I am hopeful that this succesful partnership will help further promote progressive agriculture in the state." 

FieldFresh has invested considerable resources in the state of Punjab, where it has growing operations via contract farming. FieldFresh Agri Center of Excellence, which is an integrated Research & Development facility spread across 300 acres, focusing on crop and varietal trials, progressive farming techniques, identification and adoption of appropriate technologies. The centre serves as a hub to disseminate knowledge to partner farmers and the ongoing knowledge and best practice sharing has benefited the farmers in not only increasing their yield per acre through optimum utilization of resources, but has increased the number of crop cycles on the land considerably, reaping richer

The company's efforts saw the farmers growing Baby Corn in three cycles from February to December '09 and consistently yielding record growth with a top-of-the-class quality product. The key to the success of fresh produce export & domestic operations is the post-harvest management; and it is here that the company has invested heavily in setting up a state-of-the-art pack-house with hydro-coolers to ensure that the product is maintained at the right temperature to retain the quality. The facility can process 250 metric tons of various fruits & vegetables per day and has a cold storage capacity of 500 metric tons.

In addition to the 24 x 7 support to the farmers through an extension services team, the company is also committed to social responsibility to benefit the local community. FieldFresh Foods aims to provide equal employment opportunities to men and women, and has a majority of women folk from nearby villages employed at the FieldFresh Agri Center of Excellence at Ladhowal. Agri Centre Of Excellence (ACE)

FieldFresh Agri Centre OF Excellence (ACE) at Ladhowal, Ludhiana, Punjab was inaugurated by Dr. Manmohan Singh, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on 27th September, 2006.  ACE comprises of 300 acres of farming, developed for open and protected cultivation.

The activities that have gone into making ACE truly a centre of excellence are:

Fresh Exports

FieldFresh Foods has focused on building a robust Fresh Exports business model in vegetables-primarily Baby Corn and Sweet Corn. Some of the other greens exported are French Beans and Green Chillies. All farms, where both Baby Corn & Sweet Corn is grown are Global GAP certified farms.

FieldFresh Baby Corn

FieldFresh Baby Corn is hand-picked and packed on the same day to ensure freshness, every time, with the right level of maturity for that right degree of sweetness and crunch!! The cobs are harvested just when silken tassels start appearing. This ensures that the Baby Corn cobs are just right and ready-to-eat. FieldFresh Baby Corn can be eaten raw with a spicy or a tangy dip or eaten as the classic snack – “golden fried Baby Corn”; used primarily in Asian and Oriental cuisine, it has now found its way to several continental salads. Exports have been primarily to UK and parts of Europe & Middle East and packaging is done as per customer specifications.

FieldFresh Sweet Corn

FieldFresh Foods’ expertise in Sweet Corn has been an outcome of a research of nearly three years. This provides consumers with succulent FieldFresh Sweet Corn round the year. Whole kernels of sweet corn preserved at their peak of freshness make a quick & easy snack or are a perfect ingredient to either salads, sandwiches or a key ingredient to delectable recipes.

FieldFresh Sweet Corn is grown in parts of Maharashtra in India, where the soil and climatic conditions are favourable round the year. The cobs are harvested when the kernels are golden yellow in colour and have reached the right degree of sweetness. Each cob is checked for kernel formation and filling, and only those cobs that meet our quality check specifications are further chosen for exports. FieldFresh sweet corn is exported as a whole and often, individual cobs are bought off-the-shelf in supermarkets of UK and Europe.
